Area rugs can bring warmth to a home that has hardwood or tiled floors. But, you need to choose the right size and colors. So, how to choose the perfect rug that more fits with your home decoration?
That depends upon the furniture and your seating arrangements. If you have a room that is used for entertaining and the furniture takes up most of the room; you should allow the area rug to be 25" away from each wall in the room.
Or, be sure that all the furniture will fit on the rug if the room is larger.
It is best not to have part of a chair on the rug and the rest off. That is because it causes un-necessary stress on the legs from being slightly off- balance and not on an even surface.
Area rugs come in many different color schemes. Choose the one that more fits with your desired decoration. Look at the colors in the rug and be sure they match or compliment your room colors.
There is a wide range of colors, patterns and sizes for enhancing your home.
The kind of furniture in the room is also very important when choosing an area rug. For example, if your room features dark wood furniture, probably your best choice might be darker colors in the mood of the area rug.
If you have a very large room you can use several area rugs to delineate sections such as a reading area, small gathering area with 2 chairs and a small end table. The rug designs do not all need to be the same; but the colors and pattern sizes should work together.
Area rugs have been popular during years. They are relatively easy to take care of, there are many styles, textures, materials and sizes to choose from and many are made specifically for design styles such as modern, cottage, transitional, etc. Do some on-line research to find the right rug if you are matching a particular design style. Many rug companies have specific rugs for specific design styles.
Make sure that you purchase a good quality and durable rug, because it will get a lot of use and wear and tear. Especially if there are children or pets in the home.
