This article was originally going to be written to blast the United
States Government about the economy of this country. However, I felt
that blasting them does not coincide with what God wants me to share
here.
So…what are we to do when it comes to today's economy? Are we to
criticize? Get angry? "Blast them out of the water"? No. The best thing
that we can do for our government is to pray for them.
If the government had not taken God out of it to begin with, then
they would not be in the mess that they are in right now.
Unfortunately, their actions could take us down with them.
But…we don't have to let that happen. We can stand firm. How? On the
Word of God! We can take control of our own finances. (i.e. GET OUT OF
DEBT!)
"The man of wealth has rule over the poor, and he who gets into debt is a servant to his creditor." Proverbs 22:7 BEB
Yes, we should be servants as unto God but not a servant or "slave"
to the lender. God is saying that we should not get into debt.
People are in debt up to their eyeballs because they want to "Keep
up with the Joneses." I know that I have written an article about this
before but something this important needs to be said again. We all need
reminding. So remember this….when you die…you cannot take anything with
you. You cannot take all your possessions that you bought with your
Visa card…not even with cash.
All these material things are getting in the way of us listening to
the voice of God. We need to get back to God's Word. We need to stand
firm on His truth. We need to realize that debt brings us further and
further away from the promises and the life that God had planned for us.
My husband and I went through Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace
University last year and our eyes were opened to a whole new way of
thinking. Finally, my eyes and ears were opened to what God had been
trying to tell me for so many years through my earthly father. My dad
had been trying to get through to me and I was rebellious and didn't
listen.
We have no car payment, no mortgage, no other debts but this student
loan of mine. Once we get that off of us, we will be able to consider
ourselves debt free. But…I have to say that I no longer worry about my
finances. I have a budget that somehow works out to God's glory.
Honestly, there were a few months at the beginning that I thought we
were not going to make it…but somehow, we did.
God saw us through because we were focused on His ways…and not on
the earthly temptations that we all get while watching TV, listening to
the radio, reading the newspaper or magazine, and even surfing on the
Internet.
WAKE UP PEOPLE! If you don't wake up now and get your finances in
order, you are in fact allowing the Government of the United States to
bring you down with them.
We have to pray for these politicians who are only in it for the
money and who could care less about the people they are supposed to be
serving. They are supposed to be servants and yet it seems as though
they are making us be their servants.
With the upcoming election, we need to carefully consider all the
options (As if we have much of an option to begin with). We have to
weigh everything carefully. Personally, I think the whole government
needs a cleaning from top to bottom. Have brand new people in there who
are willing to lead and serve the people of this country. Our country
was founded on Judeo-Christian values and this is where it should
return.
PRAYER is the only thing will get this done! Pray hard! IN GOD WE TRUST! |
