Safe & Stress Free  - for your pet

Some pets will exhibit, excessive barking, hiding under the bed, shaking or tumbling, bolt when the door is opened or worse bite. Pets are protective by nature, and if not socialized or use to different sounds or clothing, the pet may stress out.

We always encourage pet owners to  observe your pets behavior, if you see your pet feeling stressed  we believe the tips listed below can help comfort your pet and make it more enjoyable for all.

Tips for your pet on Halloween

Find a calm quiet place in your house far away from all the excitement.

DAP Therapy - Dog Appeasing Pheromone - highly recommend by Veterinarians, it is all natural and clams dogs. You can purchase this without a prescription.
Many loving boarding kennels use this to help calm dogs that are stressed over riding in a car, going to the Veterinary office, unfamiliar surroundings, pet anxiety, pet separation anxiety or groomers.

*If your pet is crate trained:
Crates are great for this reason, dogs look at them as their den. If possible turn on the TV or radio for sounds they are already familiar with. If your pet is use to bedroom, place a favorite bone with a blanket in the room with the same background sounds.

Cats also love crates to snuggle into and feel safe,  place the cats in a kennel with it's favorite blanket or pillow. Then place into a large walk-in closet and keep the night light on for them, with soft music playing in the background. If your cat is not familiar with a crate, then put him in a room that he is comfortable with the same light & soft music.

All the candy that is brought home needs to be kept in a place where pets can't get to it.

Place candy in a plastic jar with a tightly sealed lid. Your candy will stay fresh and it will be pet proof.

All cats should be kept inside this time of year due to some ritualistic practices that are harmful or may cause death to them.

If your pet is the more adventurous kind that you can dress him or her up for Halloween? Make sure that the costume fits properly, and is comfortable.

Bring a couple of plastic bags for waste removable, don't let pets relieve themselves in your neighbors yard.

Purchase reflective collars and tags for better visibility.

Keep a safe distance from children, in case they startle your pet.

*If you cannot provide these areas listed above, The Hollywood Pet Resort has openings for that night. Space is limited so call early!
