Gift giving can certainly be a difficult process. What if you don't know someone very well or you just plain have no clue what they would like? While you could go to the mall and shop around aimlessly, desperately hoping you'll find that perfect gift, wouldn't it be better to have something basic to fall back on?
Just make sure you have the right standard gift. Basics like scented candles or candy come with their own problems; what if someone is allergic to certain scents, or just plain hates chocolate? But there is a standard gift you can make unique: plush toys.
Plush toys can easily be given to a person of any age. Obviously, it's a good present to give a kid, but you might be surprised by the joy they can bring an adult too. They can bring back memories of years past; what if you searched out a stuffed animal that is similar to one the recipient had as a child? Or even simpler, it can be surprising what a good plush toy can add to someone's home decor. Just look at the popularity of the Santa Bear from Macy's department store. Many adults collect them and display them every year as part of their Holiday home decorating.
You'll be astonished how many people love stuffed animals, and it's not a variety of gift were you really need to worry about giving someone a toy they already have. There is what seems like millions out there, and new ones are coming out all the time. Even people who aren't known toy collectors can be convinced, if you just add some meaning to your gift.
Personalize your toy. Just don't send a teddy bear, send an animal that symbolizes the occasion. For example, if someone's graduating send them a stuffed eagle with the message to "fly high" in their future endeavors. This ensures that they will keep your gift for years to come as a memento to the occasion. Speaking of occasions, there is no other gift that is so versatile that it can be used for practically any holiday or to express any sentiment. You could use stuffed animals for birthdays, anniversaries, to say "I love you," or even "I'm sorry."
If you find yourself stumped on what to give, just remember what a great gift a plush toy can be. What are you waiting for? They can be found almost anywhere!
