Last night, August 22, 2008, on the spur of the moment, I wrote an article, calling it: " Today, One day at a time." This morning, August 23, I received a very revealing comment from Michelle Mackin who wrote: " By the way, if I died tomorrow, I know where I will go and that is wonderful and more then I could imagine."

What follows is my response to Michelle's belief and faith in something I do not understand.

IF TOMORROW NEVER CAME

If tomorrow never came, and I was caught off guard.

What would my friends and family say? I never said good bye.

I was not aware my name was called, and it took me by surprise,

As I entered into eternity and that He was waiting for me.

I know I've been a sinner, the worst kind I will admit,

And though I've begged forgiveness, I had my doubts in mind.

I never had to worry, as his promise was fulfilled.

That if I ask forgiveness, he'll open up his heavenly doors.

Today I met my maker, and all the angels sang.

Glory, hallelujah another soul has made it home.

He asked me to enter as I stood there all alone,

And He gently took my hand and walked me through his doors.

I never thought it possible, and in my doubting heart,

That room was made for me today, as I walked into paradise.

Dear Lord in heaven above me, forgive me all my doubts,

When I did not think it possible that I could also enter your domain.

So let me sing my praises, and give you all my thanks,

For allowing me to enter paradise, my home forever more.

Another beautiful work, Olof. Every night before I go to sleep, I still say the little prayer that I learned as a child--just in case--"now I lay me down to sleep, I pray thee Lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake, I pray thee Lord my soul to take." And then I ask forgiveness for anything that I might have done or said that did not sit well with my God.

Thanks for sharing.

Sandra

Dear Olof,

I am not sure what you mean when you say, "Michelle's belief and faith in something I do not understand." I believe that we both know Jesus and that our only hope is in His sacrifice. I too however, do not understand God's ways as they are higher then ours. ???

God bless you my friend,

Dear namesake,
What I wrote was in response to another persons artickle, Michelle Mackin, and the way I interpretated her belief "that her path to heaven was all set, " and that she openly proclaimed "I know where I am going", meaning when she dies she knows she is going to heaven.
What she said, and the way she said it, pardon me, hit me right in the belly, and so I wrote the response, not thinking much what my fingers was typing.
So if what I said was confusing, sorry. Read it again, and I am sure you will grasp the meaning of what I said.
Last, but not least. No need to feel aprehesive responding to me, or anyone else. When one speak her/his mind, it is basically easy to understand ones thought  behind what that person is saying.
I am trying to say: Speak freely. Do not beat around the bush! Say it like it is, and all that said, I understand you.
So be well, and take care of you and yours across the pond. England that is.
Olle

My friend,
Loneliness! I have been there many times, feeling depressed and down on the dump, but somehow I have always managed to circumvent it.
So let me try to put some sunshine back in your life, but first let me touch upon what appears to trouble you.
As I look back, I reminish how I spent 23 years of my life alone, and today I know that I overcame lonliness by keeping myself ocupied, litterly forcing myself to accept my lot. So if you read my book you will see how I kept myself occupied with creating physical objects, and my model collection is a typical result of this. Also my music, and how I learned to play the many instrument I do play. And then I would sit down and read, read and read some more, untill finally I realised that I could turn my avid reading into study a subject, and so you see the many years of schooling I have.

Lonliness! It's a terrible thing, and unless one have experiencd it like myself for years upon years, not even a doctor can cure it. They think they can, but I know otherwise. They can lead you and guide you, and then as a "last resort" give you medication, and for an extreeme condition, feeling down and blue, maybe that is a cure. That is NO cure!
Remedy? You need some tender loving care. Somebody to hold on too, and to talk too.
Here is what I believe you should do. Do NOT allow yourself to sit down, ruing over that missarble inner feeling that make you think stupid things.
You ask what causes inner loneliness? You think you are all alone and that nobody cares. You are right, but only for a moment.
Like I said before. I Know. I've been there, and I wish I could take a magic wand and make it go away for you.
This I do know. Sometimes a person is a loner because he or she choose to do so, but this is not your way as I read you.
First. DO NOT allow yourself to form a cocoon around yourself.
Open up and communicate with someone who cares.
Like me. Talk to me and I will be there and ease your lonliness and that is about the best medicin there is, knowing that out there somewhwere, is a person or persons who cares about you.
Reach out to them and a wonderful thing may happen. That person may feel down just like you, and is also looking for someone to ease their lonliness.
And guess who that person is? That person is you.
You are a teacher. How many times have you taken time out and called one of your student "after hours" and given them a compliment, or reaching out to them, helping them with a problem that you know they have. Call one of them now and when done, you will not be lonely any more, because out there is a person who feel far lonlier then you ever will.
Share your loneliness and share it with me if you like.

Who am I to offer this magic cure? I am somebody who along with a bunch of other people around you who cares about you.

Talk to me!

Olle

TO SANDRA AND ELFREDA,

I just returned this moment from a short vacation at Lake George in upstate New York, and I see the comment from Elfreda and the interuption from Sandra.
To you Elfreda I say this: I'm glad that you are finally reading my book.
To Sandra: You can interupt anytime.
And to both of you. I brought 20 copies of my book to Lake George, Friday Oct. 10th. I showed the book to my friends up there, and lo and behold. All my books sold then and there. Done! Gone!

Be well and thank you for staying in touch.
