Simple words yet so meaningful.

Our Father who art in heaven Hallowed be thy name Thy kingdom come

Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread

And forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation

but deliver us from evil. Amen

Why do people bring upon themselves unnecessary stress over how they look, when it is how you feel that is of the utmost importance? No amount of cosmetic applications, trendy Versace designs or glittery expensive jewelry will make a difference if the mood emotion is not right. Abandon any attempt to look good if you feel down. Where do you begin to start to feel an overall goodness about yourself? Good question and one with many answers. The true answer lies with you. At any time of feeling despondent - recap on the reasons you believe to have brought you down to a level of despair.

Sadness, madness, even evil willed gladness on seeing another wince in pain is all emotions that can be dealt with. People suffer mild depression due to different factors and tend to give up, making no attempt in trying to better themselves or situations that may have disheveled their way of thinking. Most identified reasons for folk giving up on them self are usually overweight issues, having a big nose, crooked teeth, too tall/small or having pimples or piggy toes. Other causes for manic mayhem are employment concerns, bereavement or that of their lottery numbers not coming up. People see the above mentioned as problems. Problems are for solving, so therefore always a solution.

Obesity - If weight is an issue of concern for you, then may I ask why because there are many ways to get your weight down to a healthy size and support groups to help you achieve this? Dieting and exercise will help shed excess pounds of flesh. Diets do not mean you starve and deny yourself of eating delights you enjoy. In fact a healthy eating plan is tasty, fulfilling and very rewarding, especially when the weighing scale needle lessens its journey round the dial. All diets do, is give guidance e.g. information on the body's needs. Cutting down/out on fattening foods and increasing intake of nutritious edibles is a far healthier option to get the body back in shape. And with combined exercise the shape you have back, can be firmed and toned. Some diets even allow for eating cake, biscuits and chocolate all within moderation. If you have control over nibbles, problem solved.

Big Nose - Before solving the big nose issue, remember it is you who sees this. Has anyone ever pointed this out to you? Your nose may not be the problem. If you adjust your way of thinking you may have the solution staring you in the face (excuse the pun.) Nonetheless if unhappy then many cosmetics are specially created for redesigning the appearance of body parts. There is also the option of cosmetic surgery, however not recommended.

Employment - Wouldn`t life be lovely if we could work a 9 to 5 job we all enjoyed. Sadly this is not the case for many, so making the most of what you got will rid the feeling of despondency. First think yourself lucky that you have a job. With millions out of work, there will be someone only too happy to jump into your shoes. Depending on job title, why not privatize your work space with photos of the kids, wife etc. Holiday postcards pinned on your locker/desk will motivate you more in your line of work. Having a wage packet at the end of the week should be enough to tell you, that what you do isn't so bad after all. Living day to day on government benefit "hand outs," could result in standing on street corners doing just that to make ends meet.

Crooked Teeth - Okay fair enough if your teeth are crooked then I can see why you may feel the way you do, but why. Dentistry work on the molars in today`s society is somewhat amazing. Dentists on a daily basis not only straighten teeth - but drill fill cap and fit dentures for the holey and the gummy. If fortunate to have a fabulous set of pearly whites, remember, overtime even with a persistent oral hygiene pact - dental treatment at some time may be necessary. It is a good idea to take out insurance to cover future dental bills.

Bereavement - A sad time for us all when we lose someone we love. What we have to remember is, will the dearly departed rest in peace knowing you're unhappy. When you love someone, and they you, all they want is for you to be happy. When is grieving time supposed to end? Who knows, for some, never? Others just on knowing the deceased are never coming back - lapse away from facing that death is imminent for us all and therefore struggle with the parting. If you cannot let go bereavement groups are compassionate listeners who you can talk your feelings through with. The biggest majority of these people at some time will have experienced the same hurt and pain.

Whatever the cause for you giving up on yourself or that of others, remember the power of prayer. Prayer is a therapeutic healing for whatever the problem. If you have God in your life - you have hope. The lord never made our lives problematic, we have ourselves to blame for that. The lord gave us the ability to think for ourselves. If we cannot make those wrongs in our life right, then it is no others fault but our own.

Some people find it difficult to pray for them self, believing it to be selfish putting them self first. God is not judgmental and there to listen.

"For me prayer is a surge of the heart, it is a simple look towards Heaven,

it is a cry of recognition and of love, embracing both trial and joy."

Saint Therese of Lisieux
