What in the name of adulthood is going on here?
It is a foregone conclusion that something has to be done in order to turn this financial disaster that faces this country around. The "relief" bill that failed in the House of Representatives was considered to be not so great, I can even understand that.
Is it really Nancy Pelosi's fault that this bill failed? Come on America, wake up. She delivered a partisan speech, which upset the Republican side of the floor so much, that yes votes were turned to no votes? If this bill was worth passing, it would have passed. The Republicans stand before the media, and place all the blame for failure on Pelosi's lap. Must be that every Republican had the mentality of a second grader when the speech was delivered.Their feelings were wounded, so they vote no. Either the votes to pass were there, or they were not. Just tell us that this was a lousy bill that should be reworked, and brought back to the floor of the House.
Both parties have to convince the American people that this is not an effort to give taxpayer monies to irresponsible, greedy, Wall Street fat cats. The common man and woman MUST receive assistance form Washington as well. Most citizens are barely keeping their heads above water, is there any wonder that there could be a backlash from the American people? Let's get to work Congress, stop grandstanding, and stop letting partisan, political feelings interfere with what must be done. Enough is enough. By the way, I don't want to see anyone with presidential aspirations putting"country first" in the middle of their campaign,"suspending" anything, and rushing back to Washington to take credit for brokering the success of the bill. Until next time.
