Depression, that's a word we hear a lot these days. It has become almost a common term, an everyday normal word. I'm sure you have heard it. You have probably have heard  "You seem so depressed" or " That's so depressing." Most people have. Because we tend to use depressed to mean sad or down. Well that's not very accrute.

Depressed means yes, you are sad but this is not a sad for five mintues thing. This is a sad for weeks. So down you can't get back up. You don't want to get out of bed anymore, you tend to crash on your bed and not leave it for hours. You can't sleep, and your so tired. You can't eat. You seem to think of dark things, and death starts to appear constently  in your mind. Mainly, your death. You think about suicide, you look for a way out. You feel too far gone for help. You are afraid to ask for help.

Well, here's some news for you, you are never too far gone. No matter how depressed you get, someone can always help you out. There are ways to not be depresseed and there are ways to fight depression.

Firstly, you must noted that depression is a state of mind. You can bring your mind out of it. But it is hard. Does that mean that you make up depression? No, not at all. You can be depressed, you probably are depressed. But if you think "I'm a screw up, I'm depressed, I will never get better", guess what, you won't get better. You are setting yourself up to never get better. If you believe you will fail, then you will fail.

Next, you must believe that you can get better. You must start and try to fight this. When they say depression hurts, they aren't lying. Depression does hurt, physically and mentally.  But you can fight it. You can be stronger than the depression. After all it is just a state of mind, a way of thinking. You can fight it.

However, sometime we need help to fight depression. Sometimes we sink so low, we can't pull ourselves out of this hole. Before you pull that trigger, stop. Go to the nearest trusted adult, and talk to them. I have a teacher that I tell everything to, it helps me handle every day life. Find yourself a trusted adult friend and talk to them.

Can't talk to someone you know? Well therapy is also a good idea. Try getting a therapist, and going to therapy. You can find out why you are depressed and how to not be depressed.

Depression hurts, hell depression kills. But you can fight it. You can beat the depression. You just have to try. Fight and you'll turn out just fine.
