The idea of a date itself is nerve-wracking, let alone having to worry about what to wear and how. But everything said and done, this is one occasion where you cannot afford to goof up on your ensemble, be it the dress you choose, your shoes or your confidence. So here are some practical tips for women who are likely to confront this situation in times to come.
The first date is almost like a reflection of your personality, an introduction to how you carry yourself and with what level of comfort you can handle any anomaly. Men are very sharp in observing even the minutest details, from the shadow on your eyes to the tip of your heel, so be sure that everything, including you, are in perfect shape and good health. However, this doesn’t mean that you adorn yourself with all the glitz that you can gather from your wardrobe. The most important thing to be kept in mind is your personal nature. Are you soft natured, too feminine or cow boyish, bold, an extrovert or a silent listener? So whatever you pick to wear should invariably suit your persona.
Choose the color depending on the time of the day you’ll be meeting. If it’s a day, pick a nice floral dress or any garb with a light base shade. If it’s an evening, you have a large color palate to choose from. You have black, followed by bright fuchsia, deep red, navy blue and ivory (best with a golden lining). The color you choose will greatly reflect on the temperament you carry as a person so be very judicious.
For a day-time date, focus more on neutral shades of lipstick until you are bold enough to carry a bright shade. But all in all, avoid it. In the night, a rich eye make-up, highlighting the shape of your eyes will work best. If you are focusing more on the eye make-up, use nude shades or pastel lip glosses for the lips. And if you intend to wear a dark lip color, don’t thicken your eyes with too much of color and liner. It’ll make you look older than your age.
If you are confident about the way you look naturally, a rose pink blush is all you need and you’ll see it in his eyes that he has fallen in love with you once again the moment he has seen you.
The idea behind a date is to make your self better known to the opposite sex. So it will be in the best of your spirits if you do not try to change your persona under the assumption that a particular thing may influence him. Be yourself! That’s the best way he can relate to the real you!
