How any Republican in their right mind can blame the Democrats for the failure of the Bailout Bill to pass is beyond comprehension. This bill, which John McCain himself tried to pass, and that even our current President GW Bush supported, was denied by the majority of the Republicans and not the Democrats. Just given the fact that this was a bill supported by the Democratic party, makes me wonder why it is that John McCain is inexplicably sided with the Republicans?

The truth is that John McCain failed to persuade his own party to think otherwise, despite the fact that he is currently up for possible election. If he can not even hold ground amongst his peers, what can he possibly do as president? His assertions are apparently ignored by the majority vote of his own party. Needless to say that his assertions are most supported by the Democrats!

If he claims that this failure has to do with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) alienating Republicans in what they say was a partisan speech that she gave right before the vote, then must one infer from this, that the Republicans must be very indecisive and a bit "flaky" for lack of a better word.

If Nancy Pelosi has more persuasive power than McCain does, then perhaps she should run for president, no? Sorry McCain, but you just flat out lost on this one.

If the House can propose a better plan, then so be it! Unfortunately, there is no better plan. It is either the Bailout Bill, or we are just going to have to reap what we sewed. The economy is in dire straights with no real option to ignore. Whether the bill was or was not a good enough plan is beside the point of this article. Blaming the Democrats for the failure of this bill that both McCain and the majority of the Democrats supported; whereas the majority of the Republicans did not support it is proof enough for me that this bill was not passed because of the final tallies, and not Obama or Nancy Pelosi.

The final tallies speak for themselves as factual representations of the decision:

Democrats 140 yes 95 no

Republicans 65 yes 133 no

End of story.

Jennifer, there's plenty of blame all around. I just think it's funny how they all sit around pointing at each other instead of getting the job done.

Hi Terry,

Yes, I'm getting rather annoyed with both of them; hence, I haven't been writing anything lately.
