I leaned back
and closed my eyes
feeling his gentle touch
as I rested
in my Father's arms

He held me tight
staying with me
throughout the night
My Father
He keeps me safe

He told me I was His child
and I know when the sun shines
it's His smile
and When I pray
He hears my praise

Because my Father pulled me
onto His lap today
and held me there on His throne
He whispered words of love and hope
in my ears

And I looked up into my Father's ghostly face
and I see the pride
in his eyes
and in my heart
I could just die

My Father made it rain today
to was all my worries away
and when my eyes
saw the rain
I became alive again

For my Father held me
on His lap today
His arms wrapped around my waist
He held me there
and kept me safe

He told me that
I would be okay
He knew the road
that I'd have to face
He knew the struggles
headed my way

But He whispered to me
That He knew I had it in me
to make in on my way
Because my Father was there with me
and there He would always stay

And I know tonight
when I close me eyes
and whisper my prayers
for His ears alone
I know He will hear

For as I say
"My Father, who art in Heaven"
I feel Him surround me
and shower me
in His love

I know my Father
is here with me
and holding me safe
on his lap
until I have to walk
down that path

But I won't be alone
My Father will walk beside me
until I can no longer carry on
and then He'll take my hand
and lead me

Because my Father
is always there.
