What could the McCain Campaign possibly be thinking?
As most Americans are wondering if they will keep their jobs, feed the family, put gas in the car, lose their homes or retirement funds, what is the McCain - Palin ticket now talking about?
Barack Obama is a "man of mystery", a shadowy figure. Who do they have as the point person on these attacks? Sarah Palin. She has been handed the keys to the Straight Talk Express Bus, and was instructed to drive certain points home, while putting on her pumps and taking the gloves off. Barack Obama "pals "around with William Ayers, a founding member of the Weather Underground, a 1960's radical group that bombed governmental buildings in Washington D.C., and other official buildings, including police departments. She also talks about Reverend Jeremiah Wright, Obama's former pastor.
Let's try to make sense of this. Has Obama had any dinner dates with Ayers or Wright lately? No. Did Obama walk hand in hand with Ayers and his group of radicals when they were bombing buildings and killing and injuring people? No. Wait, maybe Obama stood by Rev. Wright in the pulpit as he made his dumb statement saying "The U.S. brought on 9/11 with its own terrorism". No again. Obama has condemned both of these people, whether it was for their statements or their acts.
Sarah Palin should not sling moose chips, when she has, oh, a couple of things she might want to explain, or should we say, ignore. Should we start with Troopergate? If she has nothing to hide, why would she not immediately tackle that issue? Lawyers from the McCain campaign run to Alaska to start lawsuits to delay investigations. This was called a partisan investigation designed to ruin Governor Palin. I will not rehash everything here, but did she abuse her authority? I think this speaks to her "character".
What is the Alaska Independence Party? What views did they have? Their founder, Joe Vogler, made a few, should I say, un-patriotic statements. What statements, did you ask? Try these on for size:
"I'm an Alaskan, not a American".
"I've got no use for America or her damned institutions".
"The fires of Hell are glaciers compared to my hate of America".
Sounds like a Joe Six Pack patriot to me! Vogler advocated secession from the United States of America. The same action that led to the American Civil War. Did I mention statements about party members "infiltrating" mainstream political parties to further the cause of the AIP? Who was the member of the Alaskan Independence Party in the Palin family? Todd Palin, husband of Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska.
Does Sarah really want to play the guilt by association game? Is she the mole in the mainstream Republican Party? Why did her husband join the AIP in 1994? He has been registered as "unaffiliated" since 2002. Is she really putting "Country First", or is there a hidden agenda with Palin? Does she really love America? When you live in a house made of matchsticks, you shouldn't start a fire.
Palin might want to try this. As anyone who has been in a real fight would know, she might want to take the pumps off and put the gloves on, this way she won't hurt herself while duking it out. Seriously, do you think the people of Michigan, where McCain has pulled his campaign resources, want to hear this unnecessary garbage? There is a 8.9% unemployment rate in that state, the highest in the nation. Think they want to hear about 60's radicals or stupidity spewing pastors? That Express Bus will meet the brick wall of common sense and be considered a total loss in a state such as Michigan. Until next time.
