With Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner, I have decided to ponder all of the many blessings I have.

With all of the toxicity of the election campaigning and state of the nation, it might do us a bit of good to reflect on what we have instead of don't have. Maybe a trip to a third world country would show us how fortunate we really are.

While my personal beliefs are not that of everyone, we all have something to be grateful for. If you are reading this right now, then you are alive and that my friend, is a blessing.

I know a lot of people who have lost their homes, loved ones and jobs. My heart breaks for them as I once have been there myself. Nonetheless, it was up to me to make the changes to make my life different. Despite what is happening, I am responsible and am happy today.

Everyday when I wake up it is a blessing and I am thankful. I get to see or talk to my children often. I get to go to work, have a running car, home, food, friends and a wonderful husband.

All glory to God. If He hadn't given me the gift of grace and the birth of His son Jesus Christ, I would probably be physically dead and if not that spirtitually dead. Spiritual death for me would be the worst.

Today, I would like to give thanks to God for all of His many blessings and His son Jesus Christ.

I want to say Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas everyday, not happy holidays. Why else would I be writing this? By no means of my own am I alive.

Can we take a minute and say thank you instead of being pessimistic? Would you try to do so? I would be willing to bet you would feel better and your day would have a better outlook.

Yes Michelle,

I thank God for all he has given us and the spiritual gifts he has given to my life which fills the mind, heart and body with meaning. What else is there but to pass on his love to others and enjoy all the beauty he has created for us.

Thank you God,

Elfreda

And thank you Michelle for reminding us not to take God's gifts for granted.

am guilty at times of taking things for granted. However, I wanted to spread the love of God and let the world know that I am grateful and blessed. You are a doll, thank you for your comment.

God bless you always my friend,

Michelle

This writer reminds us all that we should be joyful and give thanks not only during the holidays, but each and every day we find ourselves still above ground.

hi Michelle,

this was a simplistic approach for everyone to follow: just treat each other the way you would want to be treated. it would be wonderful if we could have the spirit of thanksgiving and christmas throughout the year. thanks for an inspiring article,

my best,

sue

Thank you Sue,

After I had written this and I have another to share but believe me it will either move on you or you will see the huge Thanksgiving and Christmas before hopefully next week. Sorry it took so long to reply.

God bless you,

You are right, Michelle. We would do well to count our many blessings rather than dwell on the down-side of our lives. Even when we have problems, we should pray for strength and guidance.

Thank you so much for a wonderfully well-written and inspirational article.

Amen, Michelle! You sound so much like me, honestly! I feel the same way about this. I was telling a sister this yesterday and a girlfriend this today. Since I had a birthday this week, I shared with them that waking up was my best gift . .  . and being sane etc. I went on and on then told of the material stuff I received. Michelle, one was a blessing that will benefit others. We have so much for which to be thankful. "I will never let a rock cry out in my place!" Great article. Thank you for using your voice! Many blessings to your household.
