With Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner, I have decided to ponder all of the many blessings I have.
With all of the toxicity of the election campaigning and state of the nation, it might do us a bit of good to reflect on what we have instead of don't have. Maybe a trip to a third world country would show us how fortunate we really are.
While my personal beliefs are not that of everyone, we all have something to be grateful for. If you are reading this right now, then you are alive and that my friend, is a blessing.
I know a lot of people who have lost their homes, loved ones and jobs. My heart breaks for them as I once have been there myself. Nonetheless, it was up to me to make the changes to make my life different. Despite what is happening, I am responsible and am happy today.
Everyday when I wake up it is a blessing and I am thankful. I get to see or talk to my children often. I get to go to work, have a running car, home, food, friends and a wonderful husband.
All glory to God. If He hadn't given me the gift of grace and the birth of His son Jesus Christ, I would probably be physically dead and if not that spirtitually dead. Spiritual death for me would be the worst.
Today, I would like to give thanks to God for all of His many blessings and His son Jesus Christ.
I want to say Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas everyday, not happy holidays. Why else would I be writing this? By no means of my own am I alive.
Can we take a minute and say thank you instead of being pessimistic? Would you try to do so? I would be willing to bet you would feel better and your day would have a better outlook.
