As much as I am tempted, I cannot take credit for this headline...honest. I've already penned an Obama article in June that stirred some disgust and pity (for me)... so I am really trying to be politically correct (and "good") this time.
The "amazing messiah speaks" statement happened last February when Supreme Minister of of Islam, Louis Farrakhan, declared Barack Obama as a messiah. The video was posted yesterday for all to see on YouTube. Unfortunately, although expected, the video has already been taken down. In any event, I don't know which is more nauseating: the pronouncement of Obama as messiah or that strange cultish flow with his [Obamas] followers. Following is an excerpt of the transcript of Farrakhan's annunciation of the Messiah of the Chicago:
"...You are the instruments that God is gonna use to bring about universal change, and that is why Barack has captured the youth. And he has involved young people in a political process that they didnt care anything about. Thats a sign. When the Messiah speaks, the youth will hear, and the Messiah is absolutely speaking...."
Huh? ...uh... okay, okay... I hear ya, yeah, let's all shout out an alleluia!
When asked if Obama is a mystical figure, Farrakhan said, "he is not the Messiah for sure, but anytime he gives you a sign of uniting races, ethnic groups, ideologies, religions and makes people feel a sense of oneness, that's not necessarily Satan's work, that is, I believe, the work of God."
Interestingly, Farrakhan announced just what much of the media has been promoting all along; the idea of Barack Obama as some supernatural spiritual leader. You must remember the San Francisco columnist and Zen Master, Mark Morford, who declared Obama to be a Lightworker: "Barack Obama isn't really one of us. Not in the normal way, anyway"?
Get this: MSNBC anchorman, Chris Matthews is among the many members of the media captivated by Obama and has admitted that he felt a "thrill going up his leg" while listening to an Obama speech.
P.J. Gladnick, of Newsbusters, writes "that Obama has a charisma that goes beyond his youthful vigor, or handsomeness, or even inspiring rhetoric."
Lets face it: peopleare addictedto this man while not asking questions .
But is addiction enough to vote a presidential candidate into office?
Nope. No it's not and people are just not getting it. Actually, in my opinion, and it's only my opinion, neither party is capable of heading our country because we've lost our country right before our eyes .
Washington does not care what is going on-- period. The government is filled with the most powerful and dangerous people in the world and they-don't-care .
Unless America develops a spine of some sorts, government is only going to get bigger and bigger and bigger and we will be dragged into the New World Order [even] while kicking and screaming.
We can agree to disagree about Obama's integrity and worthiness but methinks there's a lot more at stake here:
Our country.
Sorry, people, Obama's not gonna save you. And you know what? Neither is McCain.
America should be angry; and many are. This week at a McCain rally, someone in the audience finally said exactly what many of us are feeling:
"I'm mad! I'm really mad! [APPLAUSE]. And what's going to surprise you, it's not the economy. It's the socialists taking over our country !"
Bingo! Why isn't anyone else voicing this mans feelings ?
Maybe the unknown man in McCain's audience should run for President...
You see, while I'm being criticized for being a fanatic and not being an "Obama junkie", we have these people in Washington taking over our country and it is being stolen from us . They are now talking about socializing all the banks, nationalizing all of the banks, and it ain't going to stop at the banks -- it's going to go financial sector, then it's going to go transportation, then it's going to go energy. They have got their fingers in the pie and you are not going to get their fingers back out!
If you don't listen to another word I say please hear this: Government doesn't get smaller . It only gets bigger , and bigger and bigger .
It's the small guys like us who get smaller and smaller and smaller .
This is how John McCain can win, but I don't think he believes it. Sarah Palin does. Smaller government! Nationalizing mortgages? What? Get them out! Let us fix it. These are the architects who have brought us this. You are saving all of the people who brought this down on us : those leaders in c ongress, those in the White House, those on Wall Street, those in the financial sector.
Why are we saving the people who brought us this ?
Did anyone read the story in the Washington Post today? Here it is: "The worst financial crisis since the Great Depression is claiming another casualty. American style capitalism. Since the 1930s U.S. banks were the flag ships of Americans' economic might and emulation by other nations were fiercely free market system in the United States was expected and encouraged but the market turmoil that is draining the nation's wealth and upended Wall Street now threatens to put the banks at the heart of the U.S. financial system at least partly in the hands of the government."
People, that's why the man at McCains rally is mad, and y ou and I both know what is happening . We are being socialized . Well, where are the politicians that are standing up for us and saying stop! Right now, stop!
Nowhere. That's right, nowhere. There is no change within this campaign and everyone knows that down deep but the cowardly sheep would rather criticize unbelievers than promote change themselves.
Oh, never mind... I'm tired and getting worked up and when that happens I have to do something but what? Well, I hear AIG is planning another visit to the spa and since we've already treated them to a $23K spa treatment and more, I don't think they'd mind if I showed up with my suitcase for a day or two of relaxation... anyone care to join me? --after all, our money is paying for this...

Today, she successfully runs her own advertising agency which handles everything from logos, branding and package design while she continues to work closely with self-published authors from design to promotion.
I guess you didn't read my article "Are You Ready to Vote for the New Messiah"? And as far as the Farrakhan "video" is concerned, FoxNews has been showing that speech all day long. You are absolutely right, New York. We are slip sliding into socialism. I told that to my neighbor yesterday, and he said, "Well, you don't have to live here, you know." Apathy and stupidity rules again. Glad to see you getting involved, even if you get insulted. Just consider the source, girlfriend.

No, April, I didn't catch that article of yours but will look it up -- I was working today so wasn't aware of the news airing it but, yep, we're slipping into socialism and still the sheep follow blindly... unbelievable! Insulted? nah... I'm from New York, April, remember? (smile)

Ladies, we are by works already a Social Democracy. I know you have read my articles and I have defined that a few times recently. yes and as Judi knows people do not want the truth. If you do not like Obama as a MAN you are a racist, etc, etc, etc. No this is a dark age. Now think of this while you write. The answers are right before us. The New World Order Must come into being and it must through a one world system. So we have to align our selves with the systems of this world and they incorporate "Social Democracy". Of course that will never be admitted even by the facts that government is doing exactly what it is defined as being. Next, the US has to have a diminished role in the World. for certain things to come about. To step down a notch. I don't know if you have been reading the papers but OUR reliance has been more and more on NATO and Europe. Third these "our" leaders are all working hard and have been toward a one world government. If people are that naive not to know that then they deserve what they get. However, they do know and just do not believe it will destroy our Republic. Well two different systems, period, fact. They are content with Democracy and Republic not an issue any longer. Money is what matters not the system. Now in my opinion that is the reason none with fact and get angry at the messenger. It is truly out of our hands. Keep remembering the Pharisees in Jesus Time. Well educated and knowledgeable men of their day. They were blind to the Messiah. Paul one of the greatest had to be kncoked silly. So keep those smiling faces smiling, and best wishes from the other, I don't know what others will call me but I'll say to you two - friend.
Robert, everything you say is true. But just because I know an earthquake is coming doesn't mean I have to like it. I know God is in control (though it doesn't 'feel' like it), but I am a human being with emotions, just like Judi is. I've read the back of The Book, too, and I know what's coming, but I was told to "occupy till He comes" and that's what I'm attempting to do. "Occupy" is NOT a passive term!!! Ask any soldier. Yes, Robert, I count you as "friend", too!
April, God is in Control. he has given us the isgns and he has told us what theya re. he has told us to alert and ever vigilent. He says you will know when my coming is even at the door. Now to know a hurricane is coming and to stay and do nothing is not the answer and not the answer God expects of us as responsible Christians. He sends signs and symbols to all to warn all and especially those who really beleive in him. Doubts, we are human, but the fact is we eitehr believe or we don't. In the last days many will come professing I am The ONE. I won't go on April because the signs are all about and yes even in the responses. There is a hatred for truth and a vindictiveness. Yes and when countered it grows even more intense. Yes and that too will come to be against anyone who IS a Christian in spirit. I too count you as a friend and as one I would encourage you to be more open to the signs and symbols. In her article she is pointing them out. She didn't say them, they did and she reported them. Perhaps as the papers are reporting we should be more aware of their deeds, in what they do and fail to do and why? We all need to look further? I hope I did not offend since that was not the intent. Best wishes, Robert.

Well, Mr. Robert, I guess my response to you was phoning you -- as always, I wish you the very best and truly appreciate your support and friendship.
(quote) "So we have to align our selves with the systems of this world and they incorporate "Social Democracy".
I would argue that for many, social democracy is a good thing, long overdue, and will be accepted with open arms.
(quote) "To step down a notch. I don't know if you have been reading the papers
but OUR reliance has been more and more on NATO and Europe."
Yes to the first sentence, but as for your second sentence I would argue that NATO and Europe and the world monetary system are too closely dependent on the U.S., not the other way around. Alas, global economy is a fact. Imagining otherwise is kind of like imagining the U.S. can go back to the Ward and June Cleaver Utopian American bliss myth.

Gregory I think the facts as presented by in this article are correct as pointed out via other sources mentioned. In fact just last evening the Media supported this via a talk panel discussion showing a clip of Oprah speaking to Obama as "The One"with a very distinct emphasis on "the one" and he following it up as the good politican he is siezed and and utilized it. Just why the emphasis? As for Social Democracy, to paraphrase you, in your writings and as I percieve you have already stated you approve of a take from the have and give philosophy. Not arguing right or wrong but I do not care to take from someone's success I would rather we shared the opportunity for all as our forefathers desired. Perhaps utopian but I still believe it is not the system that neeeds change it is the people driving the car. As for Social Democracy, I agree it is linked to us by nature of the Global Dream and Europe is dependent to some extent on our markets, we on their [our] money. However, that will not be so in the future as other markets mature. We just killed the fatted calf a little too early. Yes once again can in my opinion we never go back entirely to our original form and for that we will continue to be what we are today and our children will pay a dear price. We willr eamin as we are the lower class dependent on the government. Yes and in my opinion by nature of our leaders education, direction, philosphy and ideology they do align themselves with the system this world uses. It is really the berlin Wall fell. It makes a trasition into a one world government all the more easily. I know you know there will one day be a one world government and perhaps you support that dream and vision. However, in my opinion Social Democracy doesn't work and the proof is if it did they wouldn't be coming here, the educated, the teachers, the doctors, etc. I know by experinec, first hand. No, in my opinion what people truly want is what we had and we have destroyed that. Best wishes.
From my vantage point unrestrained capitalism is giving every indication of collapsing under its own ballooning structure. The phrase "redistribution of wealth" has a distinctly Bolshevik, Cultural Revolution sound to it, and is lampooned too casually in emotional mod-type rallies and debates. The problem is the billions do need redistributing. The reality, the bottom line is that wealth is being horded. The rich get richer, the poor get poorer, that is my view from Serendipity. I'm certain my perception is not imaginary. Respond to this comment
this was a well written, interesting article. i personally do not like either candidate, and i find that a shame, but i take my privlege to vote very seriously, and i will vote for the least harmful in my eyes.
what is more of a shame is that one cannot express their own views and opinions without being attacked. we all already have that right, to hold and view our opinions, and to see it slandered is very discouraging.
The media's infatuation with Obama says more about them than him! I agree that we have look within ourselves--but this is exactly what Obama has said during the Democraic primaries, together, all of us, etc. He spoke in his nomination speech of finding common ground. That doesn't get reported--but it's not his fault! The media like controveries or celebities. But because they do, don't fall into their trap of allowing them to define our reactions! I agree on the socialism. See my SearchWrap piece Is John McCain Embracing Socialism. Interestly, I live in Charleston.

You are correct, Walter and being in advertising I am familiar with the spin -- in fact, sometimes I too am guilty of spinning things just for the sake of publicity but... this is our future and that's where I draw the line because too many people are "followers" and don't know how to think for themselves -- I look forward in reading your work, neighbor!

Hi Sandra - you smart woman you! That's always been my stand: neither party will save us but too many people can't see that right now and are getting in their own way. Thanks for commenting and hope you have a great weekend!
Great Article Judi. Too bad, it is all truth. I've said it before and I say it again. I am truly thankful I was born in 1930. My tour is swiftly coming to a close and I am nothing but thankful. I'm not s pessimist, just a realist.

Well, Joel, ask my family my wishes: I always wished there was truly a time machine because I assure you that I'd prefer to go back in time even if there wasn't a computer -- I am not comfortable with the values and morals of our time -- seems to me the more educated we get the more stupid we become as a society -- you are a true pleasure and I hope you enjoy your weekend -- Thanks for commenting!
Wow! That's scary to hear hate spewed out of the same mouths of those who confess Jesus. Yes, the scriptures really are fulfilling themselves even through those you least expect. One thing for sure, nothings changed in the good ole' United States of "Who We Say Are American." Heaven help us all.
Socialism was introduced to American government since the Revolutionary War, it is not new and insidious. I offer you the complex reaction to Shays Rebellion, western Massachusetts, 1786, aggrieved farmers and a non-property owning class, indebted to wealthy and indifferent land owners as one example, but nowhere near the first.
As for Farrakhan and proclaiming Obama as a Messiah, so what? He meets the criteria, quite honestly, from what I can tell. The Jewish Messiah of the Second Temple period was, in its simplest analysis, a man who would deliver the people from a wicked rule, namely, delivering the Jewish people from the invading and Imperialist Romans. Guess what? That is exactly how many in this country and abroad view our present Executive governing body, for the many reasons well outside the scope of this particular article.
As well, why should it be surprising that the religious-left hold a comparably fervent ideology as the religious-right? Has anyone not seen Jesus Camp, and the reverence of one Evangelical, Pentacostal church for George Bush, so idolatrous that they placed his life-sized cardboard effigy on the dais and prayed to/for him? I must wonder why those examples don't seem to balance "anti-Liberal" expositions...Well, I don't really wonder.
Absence of circumspect is amusing, and we all do it, so here's to the next President, whoever that might be.
» left by Judi Lake(2,648) Judi Lake (53 days 5 hours ago.)
Hi Joel -- You make valid points and yes, I do remember the Jesus Camp which I certainly had opinions on as well; none very good, I admit... As I've mentioned, I am not impressed by either candidate nor party and the love affairs that are developed over candidates we know nothing about amaze me -- is our country worth gambling over empty lies? no, don't think so but it wouldn't be the first time it happened... Thanks for commenting and I hope you enjoy your weekend.
are you people nuts?? May I remind you that it was the evangelical christians who placed cardboard images of GW Bush on display in their churches that they would kiss! If that isn't psycho, I don't know what is!
You all are so desperate at this point, that just because people are hopeful to have a president with some intelligence like Obama, that they are ferverish about him? NO. We're just ever so grateful to see the possibility of a president being elected with some integrity and education.
And just for the record: You have no evidence that Obama is a socialist at all. Why? Because he would like to see the millions of people losing their home, going bankrupt due to medical costs to actually have some level of insurance? Are you so selfish that you don't care enough to help the scary plight of unaffordable healthcare in this country.
» left by Judi Lake(2,648) Judi Lake (53 days 5 hours ago.)
Hi Jennifer. Well, all I can say to you is that another side of America speaks and that is what makes our country wonderfully unique -- our freedom of speech. Nuts? Nah, Jennifer, just realistic. If you read further in this article, you'd realize that I'm not a believer in either candidate -- it ain't all about Obama... sorry.
ah..excuse me, but you most certainly are..You are very clearly pro-Palin! And your thinly disguised antiObama portrait is quite obviously linked to your delusions that the government is going to take over!
These type of articles about, "Just who is this Barack Obama character" are phony baloney. You and your like-minded friends have had TWO YEARS to get to know this guy. A whole lot more time than introducing yourself to Sarah Palin, that's for sure. The code word for all of this mysterious misunderstanding about Obama is, "He's Black, different and can't be trusted." Oh yes, in the name of one's fringe Christian beliefs, that perception will be discounted.

Anon, it could be me but I am getting the idea that people need to learn how to read because a great deal of things are being misinterpreted - my question has to be this, did you read this entire article? it doesn't really matter... not really...
I read the entire article! You imply that people are mesmerized by Obama and are not really "informed" citizens. However, the real unthinking Americans are those who use smear tactics to promote the politics of personal destruction. Some misinformed Christians have made this campaign a personal vendetta by suggesting that Obama is the anti-Christ. On the other hand, there are those like you who have suggested that he portrays himself as a messianic figure. Either way, it is one more way to paint him as this God-like or evil outsider who is a threat to our democracy. Reread your own article and stop projecting. - Your article was about your perception of OBAMA.
» left by Judi Lake(2,648) Judi Lake (52 days 17 hours ago.)
Anti-Christ? Ha! have no way of knowing who that might be and I never suggested any such thing. The sad part is that I know who you are by your "style" and when you get angry you "hide" behind "Anon" -- That's okay, And that's why you are not actively writing anymore is my guess. And, that, too, is sad because I really do like you. I've seen what was written about me and that's okay too. I also know that you are an educated man but I will sum this up in a nutshell: I don't trust most on Capital Hill, period. Yes that includes Republicans as well - this isn't about "Obama" and when that is understood, perhaps the division will stop -- I am fully aware of how spin works because it's what I do and people, including yourself, are buying into this" chock full of smoke and mirrors" and that's too bad too, but, like they say, "it is what it is."
REGARDLESS OF OPINIONS, I FIND IT DISTURBING AND SAD THAT FELLOW SEARCHWARP AUTHORS ARE FULL OF SUCH ANGER AND RAGE THAT THEY FEEL THEY MUST BE IN "ATTACK MODE: -- SINCE WE STILL ARE ABLE TO EXCERCISE FREEDOM OF SPEECH (I THINK) LET'S TRY TO USE A LITTLE DIPLOMACY AND COURTESY... AFTER ALL, WE'RE STILL ADULTS, AREN'T WE?
Hey girl, I love you and your wonderful heart of love :-)
I'm so glad you have a life :-) Want to eat bon bon's and watch a marathon of I love Lucy with me? I'm with you, why do people who disagree have to attack, even more ironic is that you are attacked by people who preach freedom of thinking.
» left by Judi Lake(2,648) Judi Lake (51 days 1 hour ago.)
Thanks, Lucy and I just might take you up on that... I know, maybe we should have Lucy run for office... The attacking at first hurts especially when you know the people however it's true that once we put ourselves up front we are opening ourselves up for the attacks... I too get passionate but my motivation stems similar to a mother defending her child and in this case the "child" is America and I want to "protect" her and keep her safe -- oh, heck, just pass the bon bons, will you?... thanks again for your support!
Yes Judi the experts can say it but we must dare not. After all who are we? Yes it is from people just like you, everyday family people that the information needs to come. People do not want to believe that we can percieve but if they pursue the facts and look at the works, the truth is right before them. Grat Job as usual. Robert.

This election thing reminds me of when I was engaged many years before I met Gary. Louis was "perfect" and everyone loved him, well, everyone except my grandmother. She was desperate for me to understand that Louis was NOT a good person and she didn't trust him -- She had nothing to base her feelings on other than her "gut" -- People started ignoring her when she'd begin to protest and the outcome was was that she was absolutely correct: Louis was a professional con artist who preyed on suburban families and my family fell for him before he earned any of our trust -- well, everyone except grandma. Louis had stolen thousands of dollars from my family right under our eyes and then everyone started paying attention to grandma. Big lesson learned there and my "gut" has been speaking to me for a while now -- popularity in this life is not my goal. Thank you, my friend, for your support and kindness - Robert, you are indeed a special man.
Dear Judi: I am your fan. Well written. I'm only mad because I didn't write it. I could have. Some people are incapable of reading an entire article. They see what they want, not what the writer says. I don't like either candidate, but Obama scares me to the bone. I only hope people catch on before November. It's sad when politicians seek votes instead of what is good for our country. We have a great country. We have a of discipline deficit. One example of many I could cite. Critics say our school system is bad. Yet, for years Asians (boat people) come here, work hard to learn our language and become our valdictorians. They have discipline; our youth lack discipline. God bless you, Judi. Keep writing. Marty RicKard
» left by Judi Lake(2,648) Judi Lake (47 days 16 hours ago.)
Ooh, Marty, maybe you should be glad you didn't write this; it angered quite a few people... Like yourself, I am not happy with either candidate but it's not just about not liking a candidate; something inside me screams disaster with Obama and, like you, that frightens me. It's very difficult, because I too believe this is a great country but what is happening is frightening.... Thank you for your support, Marty, I appreciate it and I've been a fan of yours for a long time. God bless you as well and wishing you a great weekend!
Judi anger for the illiterate and ignorant, debate for those who can offer different idea's, concepts, suggestions, substance. I hope you will forgive me, I responded to a few responses since I receive my own in a similar vain and nusually from the same, with no name and I sometimes lose my cool, we are after all human and we must keep that in mind. Assertiveness if your opinion not a bad thing, rudeness another. I have been running between the hospital and home taking care of two sick moms and my wife has been living there since last Friday, so if I sound a little tense it is not intended. No sleep for many a day and this is a good mental exercise. best wishes, Robert. PS I'm babysitting a 4 and 3 year old. If you hear a loud noice coming from the direction of Florida you will know it is me. best wishes, Robert
