Halloween parties are one of the most fun times of the year. Halloween is a day to let your imagination go wild, let out your creative muse. Halloween party ideas are fun to come up with and even more fun to bring to life. From the invitations to the clean-up you can plan all sorts of outrageous activities for your Halloween Party. Ideas can start with something simple and grow into something you never in your wildest dreams thought possible.

Planning your Halloween party begins with a brainstorming session. Your Halloween party ideas won't take shape yet, and they may be totally changed around before you are done, but they have to have a starting point. Jot down anything you might possibly want to do. You don't have to have a traditional Halloween party; you can have a theme party if you want.

Unique invitations set your party's mood. If you send out boring, pre-made, non-original party invitations what does that tell your guests? You have to take care creating new and improved ideas for invitations. Sending a bulletin to your guests with just enough information about your party to pique their interest in a creative way is the best way to set your party off on the right foot.

The day of the party you have to decorate but your decorations should start as ideas long before your party. You should be working on ideas for your spooky Halloween décor for days, if not weeks before your party. Remember, visual decorations are great but don't forget the sound effects that go with them. One sure fire way to get everyone's attention is to wire a recording of voices or screams to the bathroom light switch and wait to see who discovers it first. Time them to give enough time for your guests to start using the facilities before the sounds start up and make them wonder who else is in the bathroom.

Halloween food is important too. The food can be part of the party décor as well as being a fun tasty treat. Jell-o can be used to make snot cubes, bugs, and other gross looking treats. One favorite at kids parties are fingers dipped in blood. For this delicacy, you start with regular hotdogs and carve the fingernail and the wrinkles for knuckles. Boil the hotdogs and as they cool slightly they will take on the appearance of cut fingers. Dip in ketchup for a really gross looking treat.

Games are important as well. If you don't have anything for your guests to do besides stare at one another the party isn't going to go over well at all. From spooky walks in the grave yard (back yard) to group activities your guests need to be able to show their free spirits while being entertained. The spookier the activity the more fun it is. Small surprises to keep your guests on their toes as the night goes on are always a plus too. Murder mysteries, disappearing guests, and spook alleys are all ways to keep your party going.

The most important part of a party is keeping your guests entertained. If you don't have the right mood, proper music, and enough entertaining events going on to keep everyone's attention and make them want to stay you aren't going to have a fun party. The more outrageous you can be on Halloween the better your party is going. Eyeballs, mummies, and other grotesque items should be available and perhaps even able to move occasionally to keep the crowd wondering.
