Have you ever wondered what makes some marriages thrive and other marriages fall apart. No one gets married thinking of divorce, but divorce happens everyday. What makes the difference? Why does love die and what can you do to make sure your marriage is a happy one? No matter how much n love your are in the beginning, those euphoric feelings of new love cannot and will not last forever. This is reality, but that does not mean that because you are married that life has to be boring and stale.

There are many couples that have been married for years that will tell you they are as much in love now as they were on their wedding day. They also say that they have worked at keeping their marriage happy and successful. Many people have the mistaken idea that all that is necessary for a successful marriage is to say I do. This couldn't be further from the truth. You will need to invest both your time and energy into your relationship in order to have a happy, successful marriage.

Being friends with your spouse is one key to a happy marriage. Most happily married couples will tell you that in addition to love for their spouse that they also have a great friendship with them.

Keeping romance alive is another key to insuring that your marriage will be happy and successful. Being romantic is simply expressing your emotions with actions. When it comes to romance what you do is not the most important thing. Doing something is what is important. Leave a little love note, spend a whole day together doing something you enjoy, surprise your spouse with something they have been wanting or buy some fantastic massage oil and offer your spouse a massage. Little things mean a lot and once you begin to try a little romance, it becomes easier to come up with ideas and it becomes more fun.

Feelings do change and love does evolve, but your marriage is just like anything else, you get out of it what you put into it. The fact is all relationships begin with giddy, excitement, but with work an ongoing friendship and a little romance, your marriage can be better than you ever thought possible.
