When people start scrapbooking, they often document their lives one page at a time in chronological order. While this is a perfectly fine way to scrapbook, it can sometimes be overwhelming especially if your children are older or you have a lot of pictures that you want to document. Instead of putting scrapbooks in chronological order, try creating special occasions scrapbooks!

Special occasions scrapbooks are designed to help you tell the story of a specific event. You can create a baby book, a wedding album, a birthday album, a holiday album or whatever other type of event that strikes your fancy. Instead of trying to organize all of your photos by date, you can group them by event. Wouldnt it be nice to have all of your Christmas pictures in one place? Or to be able to show your child all of their birthday parties at once? You can create an album for a wedding anniversary party or a family reunion as well. Any event you want to preserve is appropriate for special occasions scrapbooks.

Special occasions scrapbooks aren't only limited to events! You can make a special scrapbook for anything that strikes your fancy. A relationship album shows all the pictures of you and your significant other through the years. An all about you album is a great way to showcase your favorite pictures and preserve some of your personal memories. You can dedicate an album to your favorite fur babies so that you'll hold onto special memories of your pets.

Not only do special occasions scrapbooks allow you to highlight specific events and parts of your life, you can also have the satisfaction of having completed albums. Instead of making albums with dozens of pages from just one year, you can plan out your albums. In the space of twenty pages you can have ten years of Halloween. You can make a simple eight page album with two pages for each of your family members. Theres something very satisfying about having completed an album, and doing special occasion albums allows you to experience that satisfaction more often.

You can also buy your scrapbooking supplies in a more organized way. You can plan out exactly what you need for any given album and buy just what you need. Instead of wasting money on supplies you may or may not use, you'll be able to buy specific supplies to suit your needs. You can color coordinate your album so that all of the pages look good together, or you can buy identical supplies so that your pages match exactly.

Creating a special occasions scrapbook is a great way to get introduced to the scrapbooking hobby. Even if you're a seasoned pro, creating this type of scrapbook is a great way to highlight special events and parts of your life. Pull out some of your favorite photos and start organizing them to make an album just for you. Make a plan to take a group photo at every Thanksgiving so that you can create a special album in the future. There are so many ways to make special occasions scrapbooks, you'll never run out of ideas!
