Is it really about what you wear to the Christmas party that will have you enjoy yourself more? Will the style of your dress or colour make any difference as to when and why you smile, I don't think so. Parties are only ever fun if you`re in the party mood, which includes you feeling good on the inside, more so than that of what you wear on the outside. You cannot get into the spirit of things if the spirit isn`t there. Stop panicking over the party outfit; it is not an element of importance for you to have fun. Think about it, if you are told a funny joke, do you laugh any less because you are clothed than what you would if stood stark naked. If you are not swayed by proven facts, then let us dress you for the Christmas occasion.

We all want to look drop dead gorgeous this Christmas, however if money is tight then you have to allow for this and not go over your budget. Let the budget beauty unfold. Before spending your cash check the back of the wardrobe. It`s surprising what garment hangs gathering dust you may have forgot about. Visit a charity shop or go to a jumble sale to pick up a bargain. Granny clothes are ideal if it is the 30s or 50s style you want. It is even a fabulous idea to rummage through mums wardrobe and dress up in the swinging sixties style. Plain shift dress, chub heel chisel toe shoe, hair lacquered and bob styled with wide hair band back from the fringe, and hey what do you know, you're done. Materials that denote glamour are silk, satin and cashmere. Silk touched up with gold accessories and stilettos will provide the perfect finish if you want to look classy. The length of the dress is not really important if you are of slim build. Opt for opaque tights if the dress/frock is on the short side. Much has been made of the new ranges of colored and patterned tights and leggings in the world of modeling, but it is only particular age groups and body shape that pull off wearing them. Stick with dark plum or midnight blue to be on the safe side, if opaque is not for you.

The color yellow and gold, and not before time the elegant pearl has jumped back on the fashion scene. I can just see her now, Grace Kelly with her pearl necklace and earrings to match, a beauty in the making. Could it have been the pearl that had her prince come calling? Grace Kelly married Prince Rainer of Monaco. Primarily it is an accessory that sets any outfit off. Hairstyle and makeup the runners up. Whether you`re a modern or chunky girl, or delicate or elegant in your choice of jewelry then your pieces out there. Gothic pearl and black diamonds are fabulously special garment dressings.

Have you found something fitting for the occasion in the back of the wardrobe, if so, you may wish to revamp. A handbag or belt in the season's colors will certainly brighten up the garment. This winter, yellow, forest fruits and, of course, gold are all versatile options. Stick with these colors and you ensure chic and trendy this Christmas. You can never go wrong wearing stilettos but if you look for change and, why not, choose low boots. Keep to a low heel if you struggle to walk in high ones and, make sure your footwear is suitably comfortable for dancing the night away.

If you want to stand out this Christmas then avoid wearing red from head to toe. There is a great possibility you could end up on the brunt end of every ones jokes, i.e. where is your sack or beard. There is also the risk of blending in with the Christmas décor. Mix and match to avoid this happening and, add the Christmas season's hottest colors- Gold, black and red.

Consider wearing Geometric patterns, eye catching red, mini dress (swinging sixties), red/black stockings/tights, heavy eyeliner, dark eye shadow and mascara with a nude makeup and bold-colored accessories. Certain to get noticed, and is this not what you want. Go rebel without a cause style, or more the girl, with a cause.  Wear: vests, v neck or rounded, waistcoats, high waist hot pants, suspenders, waist belts and not forgetting accessories. Is casual chic more fitting for your party type? Make sure you are aware of the latest fashion trends to look and feel the part. Accessories again are essentially important whether the gathering is low key or not, making the wrong choice in jewelry can have you look like a misfit.

What is the dress code for a Christmas office party you may well ask, well keep asking because no real definite answer and, the reason being is, people have different personalities and because of this changes things dramatically. A party organized with a predicted environment/atmosphere in mind can seriously be affected by different personality types. For example: Men and women normally will make their grand entrance full of airs and graces, fully bow-tied up, and women with their perfectly coated lips, but when evening draws to a close, no bow ties to be seen, and lipstick smudged collars are the norm, while withering bunches of mistletoe blanket the floor. Nevertheless stay true to your company customs and don't dress up too much, avoid evident cleavage if a daytime party along with bright colors and high heels. Accessories will do the talking for you. Look more to your hair and make-up: over the top with your hair and cosmetics can only result in you looking like Coco the clown. Avoid bouffant hair styles as this will put years on you.

The Autumn 2008 Winter 2009 fashion colors will have you see a vast assortment of vibrant colors deep and intense, full of attractive jewel colors, opulent fabrics, contrasting knit textures and exciting prints, so you shouldn`t have a problem this year with your outfit. Choose garment color carefully to suit your skin tone. Blues and purple lift the eyes; reds add a natural rosiness, whilst gold reflects highlights onto hair. Treat color as a vital asset because it can either "employ" or "destroy" beauty.
