If you stop and think about it, the title of this article might seem at first glance somewhat unusual, but then again, on further reflection, maybe not. If you were to do a quick search on the Internet searching for the best time not to get pregnant, you would probably find that it came up with  some pretty interesting results.

It does seem apparently, that not much has been written about this particular subject, although conversely there is plenty of information on the subject of the best time to become pregnant. Despite the fact that many websites have chosen to ignore this aspect of life, there are definitely certain times when pregnancy is less likely.

If it happens to be the case therefore that you are trying to avoid becoming pregnant at this particular stage in your life, it is equally very important to be aware of when to actually avoid having sex altogether.

Just as in the case of when you are trying to become pregnant, knowing the best time not to become pregnant is directly related to how well you know your body and its cycles. Most women ovulate roughly 14 days before their period starts, so if you are trying not to have a baby, this the time to avoid any unprotected sexual contact.

You should seriously print that out in in bright red neon letters by the way! Also you should take account of other indicators of ovulation like cervical mucus, and your basal temperature. These factors will help you to pinpoint when you should ignore that "loving feeling"!

Another best time in not getting pregnant, is right after the birth of a child.  It is true most brand new mothers are not exactly all gung ho to jump back into that particular part of their lives, but it does happen nevertheless.

The reason that pregnancy should be avoided at this point in time, is all down to just the simple matter of survival. A woman's body and her brain and her emotions, all need to have sufficient time to heal and get back to normal again. It is really really important that all these things should be allowed to happen before she is put through pregnancy again, wonderful and exciting as that is.

As well as the sensible health considerations, most couples want to enjoy having some quality time with their first baby, before adding another one to the family.

another best time in not getting pregnant is in the midst of life altering events. If you are getting ready to graduate from college for example, or have just landed that amazing promotion at work, or if you are having marital problems, then I suggest that the time is most probably not right for a pregnancy.

The stress and the strain is difficult on both the mother and the baby, so it may be a better idea to wait for things to settle down before getting pregnant. As well as all of that, conception is more difficult to achieve when the body is under high levels of stress.

Each individual needs to decide when the time is right for them to start a family. In down to earth practical terms, it is also right that every woman who wants to become a mother, is the best person to decide when she herself is ready for family life.

The best time in not getting pregnant is a personal choice every couple should make together in my view. So until you decide that the time is right for you to start a family, take the precautions which  are necessary to be able plan your family your own way.
