At times they drive us crazy,
At times they're just a pain,
But without those wonderful kids in our lives,
Our world would really be plain. They give us some direction,
And we know just why they're here,
If it weren't for those crazy, mixed-up kids,
Our lives would be empty, I fear.
At first they're just a sweet little thing,
They really can do no wrong,
But then they enter their teenage years,
And were singing a different song.
They want to go to a party,
And we feel it isn't right,
They have so many excuses,
And they really do put up a fight.
It's our sacred job to direct them,
And we know they will be just fine,
They think they're acting responsibly,
But sometimes they walk a fine line.
One day they'll have some kids of their own,
And worry 'bout them just the same,
For without those wonderful kids in their lives,
Their future would really be plain.
