I come home very late at night when she is fast asleep,
I try to creep inside without a sound,
But she is always waiting there as happy as can be,
I know I wake her when I come around.

But she is glad to see me, even though I'm very late,
She holds no grudge and never seems to mind,
She always has a kiss for me to welcome me back home,
I think that little girl is really fine.

We spend some time together and she heads off back to bed,
Tomorrow I will see her once again,
Another day, I come home late, but she is always there,
So happy and not pointing any blame.

What can I say about a girl who acts the way she does?
When I am down she always lifts me up,
For there are not a lot like her; she treats me like a king,
I'm talking 'bout my darling little pup.
