If you're a tall woman, you know how difficult it can be to find clothes that fit. Before you resign yourself to jumping off the fashion train due to all the small and uncomfortable styles, read these tips. You'll be surprised at how simple it is to find clothes that not only fit well but look great, too.

There are a lot of great things about being a tall woman. You can wear wide belts with confidence. You can wear horizontal stripes and textured patterns without appearing squat. You can also easily adapt most popular runway styles, since they are designed for tall women.

The main problem with shopping for a tall frame is finding pants that fit. Pants with more than a 32-inch inseam are sometimes hard to come by. If you're having trouble finding pants in your size, either try the men's department or shop in a tall woman's boutique for specific pieces.

A lot of fashion guides give tips to tall women that try to camouflage their height, such as wearing flat shoes. The only problem is that these tips often work in the opposite way. Instead of trying to hide your tallness, why not embrace it? If you choose clothes that flatter your stature and don't try to hide your height, you will be more confident and carry yourself to your full height.

Emphasize Your Height
If you want to make the most of your extra inches and select outfits that emphasize your long physique, try these tips:

*Long dresses and monochromatic outfits emphasize length. A solid color or pattern from your shoulders to your ankles makes you look long and lean.

*Choose pants without cuffs. Cuffed pants can truncate your legs and make them appear shorter.

*Avoid large patterns. If you have to wear a pattern, make sure that it's small in size and is a color on color pattern.

*Vertical stripes and tailored darts make you look taller.

*Long scarves and necklaces give you a long and lean look. Sweep your hair up, don high heels and shoes with some interesting details to make yourself look even taller.

De-emphasize your Height
If, on the other hand, you want to play down your height a bit, follow these tips:

*Wear separates. When you wear tops and pants in different colors, it will break up the length in your body. The top half and the bottom half of your body will appear like two different sections instead of one long column.

*Wear pants that have cuffs. Your legs will look shorter if your pants end with a cuff.

*Look for a mixture of colors for your wardrobe. Black and dark colors make you look taller, so if you try a variety of colors you'll eliminate the illusion.

*Choose shoes with flat heels. Everyone knows that heeled shoes make you taller. With today's popular styles like ballet flats, you'll be able to look fashionable without adding extra inches to your stature.

No matter how you choose to deal with height you can find clothes and accessories that will accomplish the look you are after.
