I first introduced Caleb & Sol to you when I posted their video entitled "Barabbas" in one of my articles.

Since then, I have been anxiously awaiting the release of their debut album entitled "AFLOAT". I was privileged to get a taste of their music when they considered it in its "rough" stages.  If that was rough, I couldn't wait to hear it fine-tuned!

With their uncompromised message of hope and love, they sing with a heart of praise and admonition to the God of all creation, while pointing to Jesus Christ. Their style is fresh, unique, and initiates involuntary toe tapping.

This album has something for everyone. I call it family friendly music--from the calming sounds of the Acoustic Guitar, light Drums and a Violin, to a more upbeat sound with the Harmonica playing in the background.  Your children are sure to ask you to replay the songs that have tasteful rap-- which won't send you over the edge with frustration as you will find yourself rapping along with them--even when rap is not your thing. The lyrics are smooth, clean, and understandable.

Memorizing the lyrics paves way for personal prayer and worship as you sing these songs of praise in the quiet of your heart long after the music stops.

If I had to put them in a category, I would say its Jack Johnson meets John Mayer meets Toby Mac. I'd also throw in a little Blues Traveler. How's this for a category.

Allow me to give you a few samples--beginning with my personal favorite, Sunday. Followed by Burn, and ending with Afloat, the title song.

This album is a must have! In fact, get two and pass one on to a friend!  What are you waiting for? Get your copy today so that when you hear them on the radio, you can sing along!

Go to Conversantlife.com and vote them to the top of the charts on the "Undiscovered" page and Visit their home page at calebandsol.com

Teresa grew up in a single-parent home in the rough parts of Los Angeles. She learned early on how to take care of herself...or so she thought. She had "street smarts", but was on a self-destructive path. Even though God knocked on her heart's door at 16, it took years for her to surrender to Him. Since then, her life has never been the same.  She is an encourager, a wife, a mother, and a daughter of the Most High God. She is an author, speaker and teacher. For over 20 yrs, her greatest joy has been leading others closer to Christ by using a practical approach to the study of the Scriptures. Teresa, it seems religious writers are all moving away from that topic, although this is in keeping with your ministry. Good Christian music is important.

Teresa,

Your's is a different generation than mine. My inspiration is that they are inspired and believe.

Hi Nancy,  that is exactly why I enjoy their music.  It speaks to the younger generation, but can be appreciated by the parents of teens.  Music is alive when it speaks truth.  There is the generation that believes the only "holy" music are hymms, but what that generation seems to forget is that in their time, hymms were "new".

God says to worship in spirit and truth and that is the measure by which He receives praise.  I'm so glad you recognize that in these guys.

Hugs and smiles,

Teresa
