How did we ever get into the mess that we find ourselves in now? What happened to our comfortable way of life? Should we have seen this storm coming or were we too busy basking in the sun to notice the dark clouds forming in the distance. Perhaps we were naive or maybe we were too afraid to face the truth. Our fantasy world has been warm and comfortable, but now we are being exposed to the cool wet realities of war, hate, greed, and the abuse of power. I recall my mother's warnings, "take a coat or you will catch a cold." Well mom was right, we have neglected to take the necessary precautions to protect ourselves and now our world is sick. Fortunately, we have received an early diagnosis and there is still hope for a full recovery. The prescription for healing is quite simple and everyone has universal access to the solution. It is time to come in from the cold and warm up with more love!
If you were to take the world's temperature right now, where would you stick the thermometer? We all know places that have been the butt of several jokes, but I am referring to the "cold-hearted" locations around the world. The conflict in the Middle East, the financial meltdown on Wall Street, the poverty in developing countries, or the environmental degradation in resource raped countries. All of these locations and many more around the world need our tender loving care now. We can all scrub up, slip on our rubber gloves and start practicing the only form of medicine that is guaranteed to heal everything we touch. We do not need a medical degree, or any hands on training, because we are all certified love interns. Are you ready to practice?
Love is contagious and we can all spread more love with our actions, thoughts and words. We have the opportunity to prescribe love every day and every moment. Our love will expand when we help the homeless, feed the poor, care for the environment, love our families, smile at our neighbors, thank the store clerks, forgive our enemies, do favors for strangers, encourage our kids, promote healthy living, donate to worthy causes, etc. There is a growing global demand for love and we have an endless supply of love!
If it is such a small world, then why is it so hard to fill it up with love? Have we been too busy in our personal lives to fulfill the global love demand? We all have our own personal agendas, like getting educated, working in our careers, buying or renting our homes, raising families, and acquiring lots and lots of stuff. Perhaps we have been too busy with our own stuff to notice the need for the global stuff. Fortunately, we are waking up now to our true purpose. The nightmares of wars, natural disasters, human suffering and the financial crisis have shattered our dreams of unlimited personal prosperity. These are all just symptoms of a love-deprived world.
Love is the key to our survival. It is the cure for many of our illnesses and it is the solution to most of our problems. We have to place a priority on love to heal the world. The important prophets, saints and earthly angels have shown us how to be great lovers. They expressed caring, kindness and compassion to all of those in need. Their footsteps were light and their impressions on mother earth left no dirty tracks. It is our responsibility to promote love and it is our destiny to experience more love. A world rich in love is the only sign of true prosperity. It is time to join our hands together, regardless of our cultural differences or religious beliefs and warm up the planet with love. A world rich in love is the only sign of perfect health and prosperity.
Well I agree 100%. I wroyte one of my first article here on this site years ago called ironically "The Coming Storm". I also wrote considerably about love. Not just professing love, real love, not just physical, love but love of neighbor or earth or nature. Yes when we decide to implement love we and the world will truly be a wonderful planet to live on. Good job. Now what is so hard about all that?
