If you could come back, for just one day
would you sit and talk to me,
   would you start to pray?

Had I known it would be your last,
   I would've stayed much longer.
Had I known you'd be gone.
I'd wished to be much stronger.

   You held our family together.
The glue that never let us part.
    Had we been a body
    You'd have been the heart.

Since your leaving, the glue has melted.
The family goes each it's own way.
Oh what I would give, to speak to you today.
Maybe some advice to keep us together.

But the sad truth is you're gone forever.
Cancer was the poison, it took you too soon.
I talk to your picture everyday.
Asking for help to be sent my way.

It's hard to believe one person has so much
   influence on our lives.
Without you it has all fallen apart.
The body lost it all, when it lost it's heart.

Anna,

Your words are touching and while they say that time heals all wounds, memory doesn't. Might I suggest that you take over that position? Bring your family back in spite of your father's passing.

Very touching memory. Keep in mind dad is there with you at all times. In the secrets of your heart as you expressed and he is always looking over your shoulder. I like to think he is on vacation and I'lls ee him again sometime up the road. Sincere best wishes and good job.

I appreciate your very encouraging words and I do often feel as if he is still near me. I will take your advice about picturing him on vacation, I sure hope to see him again. Thanks so much for reading and commenting!
