As a woman in her late thirties I like to keep in shape but despite being a member of a gym I find I spend most of my time there relaxing in the Jacuzzi! Thus not much slimming and toning going on. I did try to get fit using gym equipment but I find rowing machines, stepping machines, treadmills and weights boring and the whole process mind numbingly dull. In short I just don't have the stamina or inclination to work out in a gym. So, being a fan of quick lazy fixes that endure, I invested in a few of Slendertones muscle building toning products.
What is Slendertone?
Slendertones website describes the process thus:
"Slendertone uses Electronic Muscle Stimulation (EMS) technology to create strong, deep, comfortable contractions in your muscles. It mimics the body's natural muscle movements; signals are sent between the pads, switching on the nerves that control your muscles and causing them to contract naturally. EMS technology has been used for over 40 years in hospitals, clinics and physiotherapy practices around the world to strengthen and rehabilitate muscles. "
I started off with Slendertones Ab belt for women. I have had this belt for a couple of years now and it's still going strong! I am fairly slim already so I haven't used the belt for weight loss but I have used it to tone up my abdominal muscles and to get rid of what we call in the UK jelly belly'.
I must admit, I did get over zealous when I first used this device and wore it probably double that which was advised in the first couple of weeks, but the results came fast! I did get a nice toned tum! This product I definitely recommend.
How does Slendertone Ab belt feel?
Wearing the Slendertone Ab belt feels odd at first as your muscles contract and relax involuntarily and on high settings you can even see your stomach being pulled in. I actually quite like this sensation, call me a masochist!
I have other Slendertone products and have mixed opinions re those.
Other items include Slendertone arms for women and Slendertone mini.
The Slendertone mini is like a wraparound mini skirt, which is designed to uplift the bottom making it firmer and perkier. What we women wouldn't do for a firmer perkier bottom! It feels like a rather vigorous bottom massage when on and while sitting down is possible while wearing this device it isn't necessarily comfortable. I like this product but have yet to see good results, though I haven't been as devoted to wearing this as I have been with the Ab belt.
The Slendertone arms product I have perhaps worn twice and neglected ever since. The pads fit over each upper arm but are joined by a cable meaning you cannot actually separate your arms for a distance of more than a foot or so, which is too restrictive for me. Even in conversation my arms are waving about.
My thumbs up review is thus:
Slendertone Ab belt for women 10/10
Slendertone Mini 8/10
Slendertone arms 6/10
Overall Slendertone is a winner for women like me who do not enjoy conventional exercise.
