Police Officer

Hello there, my name is Taylor I am 24 years old and from the research that I have done im pretty much on the average track of a 24 year old. In other words I am changing my career again.

After over a year of research what I have come to realize is the following. My Associates Degree is not accredited, need more training, school, and experience. So in front of me is a few different options. Now sub consciencely I have made a decision, however seeking the wisdom from anyone in career changes or Law Enforcement would be very helpful.

Currently these are the following ideas I am currently pursuing. Job one is a corrections officer for 3 years, while attending school part time so that I can achieve my certification in Law Enforcement.  Why three years corrections? It will help me side step needing a degree. Why the Law Enforcement certification? Yes there are agencies that sponsor prospective applicants and put them through the academy. However from what I have been told, getting certified is better than trying to get sponsored.

Now coming from a family of servant leaders the United States Air Force is the other choice I am venturing. Both my parents were officers in the AF, both grand father's were in the military. One retiring as a Full Colonel in the Army, the other in the Navy. With a brother that attended West Pointe, a cousin in the Korea currently, it seems a no brainer.

Now obviously after coming out of the Air Force, I could have an Associates Degree or even possibly a Bachelor's Degree. Along with 4 years in the military would also look great on a resume so I am told. But is one better than the other? I have evaluated both choices and they both seem to be great opportunities.

Any comments are welcome, any advice is appreciated. If I get either I will give headway to the people that are interested in what I decide to do.
