It`s sad really that an amazingly beautiful thing like pregnancy and all its fine involvements (a growing baby in the womb) goes unnoticed. Pregnant women tend to go about their doings as usual, oblivious to what is going on inside of their stomach. These same women remarkably cope with morning sickness, and adapt well to the swelling belly - wearing bigger dresses till tummy deflation happens and baby is out. This is unfortunate because women are more tied up with what`s happening on the outside thus missing out on baby's development on the inside.

Purely because of this and the women who want to be a part of their baby's life from day 1 then below are "Them AmazinglyBeautiful Nine Months of Pregnancy."

While we often talk about pregnancy lasting nine months, it is commonly done in weeks, lasting 40 weeks from conception. The nine months chart is designed to be generic and may or may not specifically relate to your pregnancy solely. Women in pregnancy can, and do carry their baby`s differently so therefore no two pregnancies are ever really the exact same.

Knowing the first day of your last usual period helps medics predict an accurate due date for baby`s birth.

Month 1 - Conception usually happens within a day of ovulation, about 14 days before the beginning of your next period. The egg and sperm connect in the outer third of the fallopian tube and moves over the course of a week up to ten days down the tube to the uterus. Once settled the fertilized egg will implant into the fluffy, nutrient rich lining of the uterus. Ovulation will cease and menstruation is not seen for 9 months. Some women who hate everything about those dreaded monthly`s said, they relish these months not having to change sanitary towels or remove tampons. The forming baby is called a blastocyst as it implants. In size at this time the baby is approx 0.1-0.2 mm. Later into the fourth week the chorionic villi are formed. The yolk sac is helping to sustain the pregnancy until the placenta is fully shaped.

Month 2 - The second month is the concerning one for fetal development. Your baby goes from being a blastocyst to an embryo. Early days of this month we get a heart beat -pulsating slowly first then quickening up, and eventually slowing back down. At the start of the second month it's difficult to determine whether the baby is facing up or down. Towards the end of the month your baby's upper and lower limb buds will appear, and the primordia of the liver, pancreas, lungs, and stomach are evident. It is not apparent without genetic screening to determine the sex of your baby. Some women at this stage are eager to find out the sex of their baby, whereas in contrast we have the pregnant woman who believes it spoils the surprise. Knowing the gender of your baby before it is born has its pluses in some ways. Baby in the womb now in size is about 8-11 mm from crown to rump. Ultrasound normally can pick up on heart activity. Digits (toe and finger) rays are existent though not visible to be counted properly.

Month 3 - The third month sees baby's bones ossify. Your baby is already moving spontaneously, but not normally felt at this stage. Baby's eyes are large and open - eyelids shape later and external ears have formed. External genitalia begin to differentiate, though difficult to establish the gender yet. Your baby moves from being an embryo to the fetal period, now called a fetus. The head is the largest part of the body. While the head is big, brain's structure is alike to what it will be when baby is born. Weight at this stage is about 14 grams and 3.54 inches long.

Month 4 - As the months go by, happenings in pregnancy become clearer and apparent giving pregnant women better understanding on the how`s and why`s about baby`s development in the womb. In the fourth month the placenta has taken over production of the hormones required to sustain your pregnancy. By this time your baby is now making a little of its own insulin and bile, and weeing small amounts into the amniotic fluid about every 45 minutes. It`s a never ending matter between mother and baby`s "bottom," where even after birth mom finds she is continually changing nappies. Baby's heart is pumping about 25 quarts of blood daily rising to about 300 quarts by the end of your pregnancy. Baby molars have formed and a scalp hair pattern is seen. Size of baby now is about 3 ounces (85 grams) and 6.3 inches (16 cms).

Month 5 - Pads of the fingers and toes are forming along with finger prints. Female babies will have developed primitive eggs in the ovaries. Usually fine hair called lanugo covers the tiny body - as well as a slithery type lubricant visible on the skin called vernix. Weight of baby is now usually up to 10 ounces (283 grams) and about 25 cms long. The bigger baby gets the inevitable happens, yes you get heavier and fatter. Nevertheless you are not to fret this goes down when baby is here. Be prepared to lose more weight when tending to their needs and when the running round after them starts.

Month 6 - Eye brows are shaping now and the lanugo darkens. The sixth month sees baby moving and practice breathing. Baby also deposits brown fat which helps the infant regulate body temperature at birth. If you are ever in doubt about something or other throughout your pregnancy make sure to call in and see your doctor or midwife. You should never concern yourself over matters till you have seen your GP as this will cause stress resulting in maybe stressing your unborn baby too. Weight expected now is normally 1 lb 5 ounces (595 grams) and 30 cms or 11.8 inches in length. Premature babies born early have survived at this growth stage of development. It is known that some babies, who came much earlier than anticipated, can and do grow up to be strong and healthy children thanks to modern technology. By monitoring your pregnancy step by step it will help you in delivering a healthy baby.

Month 7 - Movements at this point may have changed from lash out kicks to smaller movements as space is now limited in the uterus. Normally at about 28 weeks the infant starts locating him or herself downwards. Why not talk to your baby because he she can hear you while in the uterus. Eye lashes have normally developed by now, as subcutaneous fat is deposited. The male testes begin descending. The unborn is approx 13.8 inches long (35 cms) and weighs about 2 pounds 4 ounces (1 kilogram.)

Month 8 - The unborn is getting ready to show an appearance. Red blood cell production is done entirely by your baby's bone marrow. The baby's irises can now dilate and respond to light. Finger nails are near to fully grown. Baby should now be about 3 pounds eleven ounces (1.7 kilograms,) in weight and measuring to 40 cms or 15.8 inches! My youngest son weighed 31bs 12 ounces and is a towering 6ft mathematician working as a computer technician.

Month 9 - A full term pregnancy sees baby's organs fully formed. All you do now is to lie flat on your back, grit your teeth (it helps) and keep those arms open wide ready for cuddling your baby son or daughter.
