Whether you use team building activities for corporate organisations, teenagers or adolescent staff or nonprofit events, building and strengthening your team is imperative if you hope to succeed in your efforts — and even to survive in the long run.

Team building activities should be fun. If you are planning company or team building meetings and are simply covering advice with no stamina or personal touches, then its guaranteed your staff are bored and likely resentful. (Especially if everyone is attending in their free time!) Yes, all team building activities should be fun and entertaining to participate in. Fun does not mean childish, especially in the corporate environment where professionalism is expected. But there are ways to plan fun and productive events that will help in team building.

Major Types Of Team Building Activities
There are many types of team building activities worth trying, depending on your specific team needs. There are team building games that can boost morale, enthusiasm and trust. There are team events such as workshops or role playing scenarios to give pertinent advice a more riveting interactive edge. There are also quizzes, visual demonstrations, and other events that can be used for team building. Utilising such ideas can help to warm up meetings, improve team performance, liven up conferences, or even used as an after hours work party.

What are some specific types of team building ideas you can utilise? With workshops you can disperse advice freely, with minimal effort and organisation, but with a much friendlier and more open atmosphere. Sometimes a workshop activity is more appreciated by staff, if communicating valuable advice to a team is the shared intention. In the case of role playing scenarios, these are normally done in a corporate context — whether to help improve employee performance or even to improve trust between management and the work force.

Other Types of Team Building Activities
In terms of self-motivation and self-discovery, the Superhero game is a well known one, and a child's game that's easy to adapt into an adult activity. This style of game would be perfect in challenging staff to expand their vision and organisation ambition. The Quiz Public Survey game is used to encourage and improve interaction with people, and even to get a better feel for consumer demand. Some fun and games are simple are used to encourage friendly competition, such as the Bin Toss Game, which mimics basketball with a waste basket. Then there are more intricate events like the Bricks In The Wall game which sees a simple intention deconstructed into a detailed and long range plan by smaller teams. The intention of this activity is to explain the importance of cause and affect, as well as the process that's required in achieving goals. Goals could be anything from organisation forecasts to even general scenarios outside the work place.

What's nice about all of these events is that you can easily adapt these common fun and games and scenarios to fit your individual team, your individual organisation, and reach your individual unique team goals.
