I live in Oklahoma City , a target for whacky ultra conservative evil by a deranged, evil right-winged stup-o. Do we need to see the pictures again to remember that there were babies in a day-care, within the Federal Building that were blown up by Timothy McVeigh? Maybe that devastation makes me more sensitive to threats from the right.
No. Hell, no! The rest of the country is just not sensitive enough!
In the past week I have heard a lot of evil, crazy talk regurgitated by ultra conservative right week jerks and I am alarmed that we are not all alarmed. Consider Sean Hannity who put out a survey on his buhhlog asking people to vote on what kind of revolution they wanted in this country. Seriously. This pretend news guy op-ed whacky-o wasn't asking for citizens of the United States to vote on what kind of violent resistance they would prefer.
Poll Results: What kind of revolution appeals most to you?
Military Coup 17 25.00%
Armed Rebellion 27 39.71%
War for Secession 24 35.29%
Or consider Joe "the Plumber" Wurzelbacher who said recently that if he were elected to Congress he would "probably be in jail." Why? Because he would was pretty certain he would find it irresistible to slap some of the other law makers around. Now why does Joe think he'd be slapping law makers? Because when our elected law makers said bad stuff about the troops, or started flapping their gums spreading "treasonous talk about America ," well, he just would not be able to restrain himself.
But which law makers are talking bad about the troops? Even those opposed to war are not bad mouthing the troops. As for all that treasonous talk, well, Joe the plumber should listen to his own words. Let's quote Joe the patriotic plumber word for word:
Back in the day, really, when people would talk about our military in a poor way, somebody would shoot em. You don't talk about our troops. You support our troops.
When Joe the Plumber advocates the murder of law makers on the grounds that he personally doesn't like their words, well, it just doesn't sound all that supportive of the rights so long advocated by our United States Constitution.
What is wrong with conservatives that they would give a gnat-brained jerk like Joe Wurzelbacher so much attention, so many opportunities to represent the Republican cause? Does the Republican Party really want to be represented by Joe Wurselbacher, or Sean Hannity?
There was a time when I could disagree with Republicans and not think they were stupid, mindless, creeps. Of course, most Republicans are NOT stupid, or mindless, or creep-os. Tens of thousands of Republicans are men and women of high ethics, sincere patriots who want what is best for our country. We need the decent, smart, sincere Republicans to take back their party. Instead of threatening armed rebellion we need logical ideas that solve problems, and make life better for our people.
