Please allow me to share three little poems that I have written for my two precious granddaughters. These are my daughter, Tanna's, children and they are really precious to me. Isn't it just great to be a grandparent!!
The first poem, "My Little Baby Girl" was written for my first granddaughter, Shayla. The second poem, "She's Here Today" was written for Shayla's first birthday. The third poem, "Encounters Of The Sweetest Kind", was written for my second granddaughter, Matthea.
My Little Baby Girl
A sweet expression on her face, Her fingers, toes, all in their place, A perfect picture of God's grace, My little baby girl.
Her wrinkled furl, her pouty lips, Her face could launch a thousand ships, Her smile could sun and moon eclipse, My little baby girl.
A little squeal, a little cry, I speak a whisper in reply, It's not a moment I could buy, My little baby girl.
My little treasure from above, I give my heart and give my love, Her name is Shayla, little dove, My little baby girl.
She's Here Today
My little girl turned one year old today, Oh, how she's grown, How time has flown, I sit here as I watch her laugh and play, So much unknown, From God on loan.
A little angel, cute as she can be, I see her grin, I melt within, This little girl is everything to me, The prize, the win, Of Tanna Lynn.
A year is past, another's on the way, I'm feeling blessed, And so impressed, I sit here as I watch her laugh and play, She is the best, By love possessed.
Our God has given us a little gift, She's here to stay, And light the day, Another year will pass; it's very swift, But that's okay, She's here today.
Encounters Of The Sweetest Kind
Encounters of the sweetest kind, She lays her head so close to mine, And as I whisper in her ear, To comfort, soothe and calm her fears, I feel like I've been blessed.
The way this Angel looks at me, As here I hold her on my knee, And tells me in her silent way, That she would always have me stay, I feel like I've been blessed.
Matthea Davynn, little child, So soft and tender, meek and mild, A little touch of Heaven's charm, I hold her gently in my arms, And know that I've been blessed.
