My friend told me about this fifty-year-old woman who went into cardiac arrest and when the paramedics got there she only had seconds to live so the paramedics had no choice but to rip her dress and bra so they could reach her heart. I think she is still living now after about 5 years. BUt she said that it was uunnecessary for them to rip her clothes and sued the paramedics and forced them to pay for her new clothes. She could have died and she was so selfish she only thought about how to get money out of them.
You have probably heard about this. A man tried to commit suicide by jumping off Niagara Falls, only to survive. When the rescuers tried to get to him he swam away into the middle of the river. They only managed to get to him after 45 minutes when he got tired and the currents drifted him to the waters edge. He is the third person ever to survive a fall off Niagara Falls. The second man tried to commit suicide and when he realized he had survived he turned his life around. I think I would have done the same thing. He must have survived for some reason but I don't the third man can see it that way.
Wonderful article, Eleanor. It is so true that there are some people who can be so ungrateful that you almost regret doing the kindness for them. But as Christians, we have to turn the other cheek, so to speak, and do it again and again. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Eleanor, you are so right. It's sad thing, but stories like this are abundant. What a sad commentary on her outlook on life. I hope at some point she will regret that decision.
Eleanor, I hear you!! I too would have turned my life around if I tried to kill myself (God forbid I should even ever consider it) and survived. The stories you wrote tell how our world has become one of always trying to get something or change someone or play someone so much that people still do this even when someone is trying to save their lives or saved it. I understand how this is bloody frustrating!!!
