How does one loose a pet? To have any authority as a writer at all, good grammar is a good start. I won't even bother about the dangling participles. Here's conversation starter number 101: How many times a day do you see blatant examples of poor education and are you concerned that those people are breeding?

Agree with the person who said a writer must be able to be understood and poor grammar and spelling gets in the way.

"How many times a day do you see blatant examples of poor education and are you concerned that those people are breeding?"

Now THAT is  hysterical. I'm actually planning on using that as an opener, thanks!

ok, i'd just like to point one thing out that apparently Mr (or Mrs) dangling participle may have missed. You could Loose a pet by releasing a pet towards someone, "Let Loose the hounds", although perhaps this TJ meant Lose, such as having a pet run away. Or perhaps as in "to lose a loved one" they refer to death. Reguardless, STOP BEING A GRAMAR NAZI!!!! it's not fun, it makes you seem uptight, and rarely does anyone care. This is the internet, gramar is going to be slack because it is "street talk", the vernacular if you will. You fight a battle that you are going to lose for the simple and straightforward reason that languages change over time. Deal with it.

hmmm "E. Poe" makes a good point. Languages do evolve and why should we use correct grammar and spelling when we can communicate with alot less effort by using incorrect spelling and grammar. The more we use technology the more we will find that we have to go out of our way to fit this technology to our many different languages and forms of communication. I believe the world is calling out for a universal language that MAKES SENSE!! who needs silent letters??

You know, I think someone actually tried that, its based on spanish for the phoenetic spelling, and for some reason i want to say french sentence structure. Cant seem to recall who made it or what its called though. All i can think of is Heinleins "Galacta"

Well, I don't know about other women, but I know that i'd rather be on a date with TJ who will ease the tension and make me feel comfortable, then the spelling nazi who's going to do the exact opposite while he sits there getting angry over nothing and judging everyone around him!! haha. =)

Donna is awesome. Lets go out Donna. I read this list and I also have good grammar. You're from NY? Me too! Jk. When I read, "Ever loose a pet?" I didn't even notice that it wasn't 'lose' instead of 'loose'. Come on guys, of course he meant lose.

If you comment that the person writing this stuff has no life, what about the people commenting? Whoooops! I NEED A LIFE, HELLLLLLLLLLLP!

P.S.
If you need this list for conversing, then you need to get interesting so that your date will be interested? Interested? Put the remote down and read a little. Read a little, speak a little, but most importantly listen a little, that's the story of, that's the glory of . . .
