Gone

For most of my life I had been self- employed and so was accustomed to being my own supervisor. Then, I was blessed with a job at a non-profit thrift store. God blessed me with a wonderful supervisor for nine months. My supervisor was very kind and compassionate and always gave me encouragement. I was hired as a manager of this thrift store and my background was child care. So, I had to learn everything and I was at a disadvantage because most of the volunteers and employees had been there many years. My supervisor spent nine months training me to be the best manager.

Then, without warning she accepted a position in a different part of the country. I received a final e-mail that just stated: “GONE". I felt like I had been left behind! But, I was not left behind - it was just time to move on with the plans the Lord had for me. God had placed me in that position to receive

training for the future plans of opening a thrift store to help support the ministry ( I was about to start). Through this job -God opened doors for me to meet people that would help me in the future as I opened my own thrift store.

Just as I felt left behind when my supervisor left - the disciples felt left behind when Jesus left by descending into heaven. Unlike my supervisor who left and will not be returning - Jesus will return someday for the faithful. Have you asked Jesus into your heart? If not, why not now?

Scripture: Mark 16:19 “ After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God."

Scripture Reading : Revelation 22

Prayer: Dear Lord, I ask you take my life and use it to glorify you and to spread the good news of Jesus. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
