In devouring the picture that Grayson mailed from Iraq, I gaze into the warmth of his rugged face, notice his crystal-blue eyes drifting off into a far-off place and hope he is caressing me with his mind like he has done so many times with the firm but gentle ways of his hands. I miss my husband but know that it matters more that he serve our country. I can only pray that as Grayson armors himself in military garments that he also puts on the helmet of God for protection. Oh how I pray day and night for his safety and dream of our meeting again in reality; however, in fantasy, I meet him nightly in my dreams at Paradise Cove. The skyline there is golden with a mixture of lavenders laced with soft pink tones and the island is inhabited by very few islanders. I find so much solace just being in the warmth and safety of his arms while moist winds blow over our bodies as we cuddle on the beach exchanging stories of what is happening in our separate worlds.
The irony of it all is that this surreal adventure has become more real than reality. The beauty of dreaming in Technicolor and being protected from nuisances of daily living is becoming a cloud on which I wish to float in the many mysterious facets of the mind
and I am ……
Sailing dreamy, romantic shores of Paradise Cove Watching misty-blue tides of yesterday roll away, Fresh dreams of tomorrow floating to plush shores Visional images of your presence surfacing at bay.
Luscious lavender halos ring, lighting the night sky across the miles of rock and capes of cascading land, A bold and dark silhouette ascends in galaxies of space harboring waters, reaching out, embracing my hand.
Gliding across tropical Edens of ancient times together, basking in oceans of pure love, beyond twilight's sunset, Rising and swirling, dusting in sprinkles of sea feathers, bonds of devotion clearing inclement weather being met.
The beautiful world of today can be so very promising, Meet me in your dreams at the end of each given day, We'll explore all life's vast mysteries of time without end, Etching poetry on awakening skylines as we sail away.

Thank you, Gary, for the awesome review ~ I am pleased that you enjoyed the write and the poem about Paradise Cove. I went back and downloaded the correct picture of what I called Paradise Cove ~ it inspired the poem a few years back ~ I just added a little bit of a story line to it. You've made my day! Blessings! Your writing is a much better description than the picture you included. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but in this case the words do a much, much better job than the picture.

David, you are very, very perceptive ~ the picture that was originally there was one that I substituted because of having complications downloading the real picture of what inspired me to write the poem, Paradise Cove, a few years back ~ I just recently added a bit of a storyline to the poem. I am glad you said something because I knew then I had to go back and go through all the challenges of getting this pic downloaded here ~for whatever reason, this site does not do as much justice to the picture. I hope you are able to come back and view it. Thank you so much for the kind words and awesome review. Blessings! Suz Respond to this comment

Thank you so much for your awesome review on one of my favorite poems ~ if you'll notice, the bottom portion is written in stanzas. I just added a little fictional story at the top to see how interesting I could make it. Oh, and the poem was actually inspired by the picture. Blessings! Suz
