I have a client that tore her lateral meniscus. It was not a really bad tear though, because she does not need surgery. She just wants to make it stronger. Menisus tear

Lateral Meniscus is cartilage in the semicircular ring that that acts as a shock absorber for the bones. You can make it stronger when it is time to do so. The best way to make it stronger is to build up the muscles around it. I'm gonna put together a basic program for someone that wanted to make their knee a bit stronger. There are a few exercises that work great for strengthing the knees.

  • Leg extension
  • Squats with light weights/ done partially don't go all the way down
  • Lunges with light weights/ done partially don't go all the way down
  • The bridge, laying down on back pushing up torso
  • Calve raises, building up the calve muscle helps keep knee in alignment
  • Leg curls, building up surrounding muscles will give the knee more balance

Proper stretching will help the knee also, hold stretches for at least a 10-20 count

  • Ham stretch, put one leg in front of the other and bend to touch toes, legs to should right ankle to left ankle
  • Quad stretch, pull leg backwards so your knee is bent
