I wrote this poem to remind myself how easily I can forget about the very things that sustains me in my life and how easily I forget to invite my very best friend to go with me when I am in a hurry.

Good Morning Mr. Sun,

Looks like a great day for having fun.

I scurried out and without a doubt,

I had left something important out.

I looked all around and could not see,

What in the world it could possibly be?

I played the whole day, with such delight,

I could feel my soul soar to new heights.

The night set in and the moon was full,

It was beautiful but still I sensed a nagging pull.

Something was missing, or was it someone,

Then I remembered just before my day was done.

My forgetfulness I could not believe,

When I realized who it I was so aggrieved.

It was the Lord I forgot, oh how ashamed I felt,

His forgiveness I quickly sought as I knelt.

I know He never forgets me even when I forget Him,

I am ever so thankful that His love never grows dim.

I am grateful for His ever abounding love, mercy and grace,

I knew I was forgiven the minute I pleaded my case.

I am so glad that He is my very best friend,

He loves me unconditionally even when I sin.

So if you need a special friend,

Who will be with you to the end.

Make Christ the Lord of your life,

With Him you can endure any strife.

Hi Linda, I love this poem. Isn't it amazing how quickly we can go about our day and forgot to formally say good morning to the one who will be with us the whole day through? THanks for this beautiful reminder! Lord bless ou! Teresa

Beautifully put with such a charming introduction ~ you do have a gift of writing poetry, Linda. I too try to write a mixture of poetry and articles. I don't know if you remember Lulu Roman but years back I showed up at my church for an evening service and she was there to witness. She left HeeHaw close to the same time and started her ministry for the Lord by virtue of being delivered from drugs and alcohol without withdrawal symptoms. Her style was country-gospel and she had the best album entitled "My Best Friend." That concert was so unexpected but was probably the best one I had ever attended ~ she was on fire. Thanks for the awesome reminder to always take time to greet our best friend. Blessings! Suzy

I've read some of your pieces and know you are a great writer and it always amazes me when someone with your ability likes one of my pieces. This writing thing is all new to me so I just keep plugging away towards what I'm not quite sure yet.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read and comment on my articles.

why do you have to get up in the moring and say hi to god is it not better to no that he is always there (if you believe) and to do what he gave us free will for whatever we whant. why not say hi to someoen that is actuly there and solid through our good and bad times. anyway your poetry i s nice but a bit cheesy and im only 14 so if i think its cheesy than take it from me it is anyway your probaly a lovely person and your poetry realy is nice cheesy isnt always bad xoxo
