I am writing a brief e-mail to the president, if anyone wishes to write him he can be contacted on this site. Email to the president I know he will most likely not get to read this message for he is a busy man but I thought I would write it anyway, this is how it goes

To the honorable Barack Obama, President of the United States

Mr. President:

I know you have your hands full trying to deal with the economy and all of our domestic problems. However when it comes to war I believe you should try to avoid war there must be a better way to get through to Al Quida. After all these people are human just like us, they may have different beliefs in God than we do.

Do you truly believe war is the only way to settle our differences? I know Osama Bin Layden was responsible for 9/11 but do we actually know the whole story behind this horrific incident? Their soldiers are trained just as ours are with deep patriotic beliefs.

I believe wars are useless even if we do defeat Al Quida we cannot force a people to like us through fear we must give them something to respect us for.

I served in Vietnam in the 60s however, we lost that war today we may visit Vietnam and be treated friendly by those whom we considered our enemy.

Here in the 21 st . Century we must put an end to war once and for all. Welcome our foe to a diplomatic solution peace can only be achieved with peace not war.

Thank you, a concerned citizen, David A Tanguay

David, what an interesting article and your taking the time to send your thoughts and ideas to the president is great. I try to keep up on everything going on and saw something in the news about recent events with the Al Quida but haven't caught up with it yet. I think you are absolutely right, we should avoid war at all risks. We have to put an end to it all and hopefully very soon. Blessings! Suzy

Thank you for commenting Suzy, yes wars will never accomplish peace. We need to find common ground between our countries.

h david,

i do so hope the President reads his e mail.

thank you for providing the e mail site.

i may write everyday-my son's life is worth it.

have you noticed that when the President was running for office, his hair was blacker? now, i see much more gray!

i know he has a lot on his plate, but i have 21, almost 22 years of love and training of my own into my boy, and i don't want to lose him, or have him forever damaged by what he may see or have to go through.

they say the air force doesn't get too close to combat, but they go in, fix the planes, and get out. i'm sorry, but even that is a little too close for me.

we stop our children from fighting with their siblings or classmates or playmates when they are growing up. they get sent to the principal's office if they get int a fight, and may even get suspended, to teach then that fighting is not the answer. if someone gets into a fight with a neighbor or bar room stranger, and they hit them, they spend time in jail, and yet, here we are, teaching them the exact opposite after all the years of trying to teach them to talk their problems out.

it's a sad, sad situation.

thank you for your concern for all who are serving now,

my best as always,

sue

Howdy David, I followed your lead, and wrote to the president as well regarding this very issued. I found out that you can review what you wrote, by selecting "letters to the leaders" and pick the subject, mine was "Terrorism" catagory, then you can open up letters to the leaders section, and wa-la, it will show you the subject...my title was Peace, or War....you can go up and read it. This was a great article, and a great idea, and also a wonderful read......Thanks for sharing.....Your fan, and friend in pen......Gary.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts David. Yes it would be nice if we could all live in a nation where we could agree to disagree without being disagreeable.
