If you are like me, I love sending scripture to school with my child daily. I usually put it in his lunch box and try to make it coincide with issues he is facing in school at the time.
God's word has a wealth of wisdom on every subject imaginable. This week, I really wanted to bring to life Holy week for my son. I know he knows the story, but I want him to remember key scriptures and start applying them to his life.
Here are some great scriptures to work with your children this week. They don't have to be put in the lunchbox. They can be discussed during dinner, in the car or before bed.
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life."
John 14:6a
Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.
Luke 4:8b
Christ died for our sins.
1Corinthians 15:3b
He is not here; he has risen just as he said.
Matthew 28:6a
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16
And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
Matthew 28:20b
I do make sure to give my kids real life applications on their age level. Picture books work well for the younger ones. Crafts are great for the older ones. Repetition is a great way for kids to memorize as well as putting the words to song.
Enjoy the week and instill some Biblical truths to the young! Happy Holy Week!
