Where are the public outcries of disdain?  Does not one person even care about what is going on in Washington?  I must admit, it scares me.  It scares me very much.  Are we as a people so blind, so jaded, so careless about what our elected leaders are doing in Washington?  Do we even watch/read/listen to the news anymore?

When the Obama Administration does the kinds of things that it is doing, all with the approval of the House and Senate-- when the companies that were big supporters of Democrats (Goldman Sachs and AIG are prime examples) get a helping hand while others are thrown to the wayside; when the Obama Administration starts firing people of certain companies that are doing poorly and gives raises to others; when North Korea is laughing in our face (loudly) and Obama does nothing-- do the people of the US even really care?

Or (and this is the really scary part), people understand what's going on and approve of the move to Socialism?  Obama (and the Democrats) are doing what they promised.  Indeed, they are doing what they always wanted to do: take away more freedoms, implement more taxes (on everybody), take control of the airwaves and news (via the so-called Fairness Doctrine), and take away our guns, all in the name of 'safety' and 'fairness'.

This is obviously ridiculous!  How could Democrats in Washington actually be so brazenly attacking OUR First Amendment and Second Amendment Rights?  And doing so right out in the open, for everyone to see, without even pretending they are not trying to kill two of the most important rights granted to us by the Constitution they are supposed (and sworn) to uphold?

How is this happening?  I'll tell you.  It is happening not with common people like you and me screaming and picketing Washington.  It is not happening with lawsuits being filed against these traitors to the Constitution.  It is happening with most people too busy to take notice.  It is happening with your 'safety' and 'fairness' in mind.  It is happening with roaring and thunderous applause from many of the people whose very way of life is being stolen from them.  Strong words, yes.  But these are difficult and trying times.  How dare we as a nation allow this to happen!?

Now, many will start talking about the Republicans, how they did this and they did that; how the Republicans got us into a war, how the Republicans are to blame for the economic troubles, etc.  And, I agree (as I have often said) that the GOP does share some of the blame for the current economic situation.

But the Republican Party never tried to take your guns away for your own 'safety'.  The Republican Party never tried to kill the First Amendment to the Constitution by screaming that it's more 'fair' that way.  The Republican Party never tried to kill a baby before it had a chance to even be born.  The Republican Party never tried to kill a baby after it was born because the abortion procedure failed.

And finally, to all the Democrats out there who still think the Republican Party is evil and that the Democrats are the good guys:  The Republican Party never tried to put so many people in Eastern Kentucky out of work and starve our children by killing the coal industry.

It's time folks.  It's past time to act.  We need real government that works for the people.  All the people.  It's time to take a stand and throw out every elected person that does not support the Constitution of the US.  And that means Democrats, Republicans, Independents, whatever.

If we don't, if we continue to be 'too busy' to take notice and see what is going on, then our children will be right in blaming us for the sad, sorry excuse for a country we leave to them.  A country that once was great.

Great article. I agree. It makes no difference if we are Republicans or Democrats, Congress must be stopped. People have forgotten some of the good things Bush tried to do and our Democratic Congress blocked him at every turn. Thanks for sharing.
