Easter Sunday is the day Jesus rose from the dead and ascended into heaven. Leaving all of us a script to follow so that we may join him someday in his heavenly home his suffering on the cross and the blood he shed for our sins have paved the way so that we could be saved.
For the Lord Jesus was indeed the son of God, God's answer to a troubled world. Yes, the world was troubled in his day just as it is in today's world
We would think we would have learned from our past mistakes how to behave however the world is still corrupt today as it was back during the Roman dynasty where rulers past on their way of life through the ages.
We may be more sophisticated today but we still live barbarically by participating in war. Our streets are still corrupted with violence criminal and political. We call ourselves civilized as a people however by God's law we are far from being civilized.
Sometimes I question just what Jesus preached when he said to "love thy neighbor as thyself" and love your enemies.
Surely if we did live by the laws Jesus set forth we would be quite a passive people. Perhaps we as a people were aggressive in the past to fight the devil's ways. For Jesus himself preached against following Satan's rules and laws. He said, " Walk behind me Satan"
If Satan were defeated then perhaps we could more easily adapt to the rules and laws of Christianity. We have so many times through history heard the expression " The Lord works in mysteries ways"Even the criminal serving a sentence behind bars may have been doing the Lord's work.
Therefore on Easter Sunday we are reminded that there is a God by the sacrifice of his son on the cross. His resurrection has proven this to the world all we need do is open our hearts and let him into our lives.

Yes, David, the world is in such a sad state. I pray every day, but I don't think things will change much until the end comes. I know I shouldn't say things like that because it only means that I don't have enough faith. But, I have faith in our Lord--it's mankind that makes it hard to keep the faith.
Yes Sandra, I respect your beliefs however I believe what John Kennedy said "here on earth god's work must truly be our own" I don't believe in the second coming at least as it is described in the bible. thanks for commenting
A lovely crucifixion and resurrection message, David. There is so much symbolism to Calvary. We must die to ourselves and rise in Him. We must die to the world and live in Him.
The troubles of the world are many but He tells us we can be of good cheer because He has overcome the world. I love how you ended this by saying we must have Him come live in our hearts. Thank you David and a Happy Easter to you! Respond to this comment
"We must die to ourselves and rise in Him" I believe what you are referring to with this statement Avis is we must be born again. Yes, I agree with you here we must let him into our lives and do his work here on earth. Thanks for commenting

Excellent David!
I am with my mom Linda, and must die to self everyday. I am so happy to have Christ in my life today. It is a much better life than I can do. I am only a sinner and sometimes I have to start my day over and die to self more than once. Whenever I am sick or in pain I think of the tears He wept and the pain He must have gone through. I can't hold a candle to His sacrifice.
