The cover of this book really caught my eye and made me want to read this novel. The funny thing is the dog on the cover is not even in this book! Anyway, the cover is simply adorable and animal lovers will appreciate it.

TThe main character in this novel is Holly Frick, a writer, who is divorced from a man she is still in love with. Her career is going downhill. The book she had recently written turned out to be a flop. Right now, Holly's life is very complicated and she wonders if she will ever find happiness again.

Holly has many friends but they all seem to have some kind of problems of their own. They, too, need to sort out their own lives and find happiness. This colorful cast of characters includes Amanda, Holly's best friend who is cheating on her husband; Mark, Amandas husband; Leonard, her gay writing partner; Spence, Holly's ex-boyfriend and several others. Even though Holly is the main character, this novel is about much more than one person.

Will Holly and her friends learn what it takes to be happy?

Now getting back to the book cover. This book is about several characters and what is going on in their lives the good and the bad. When you look at the cover, you just know that dog is extremely happy. I'm sure that is the direction many of these characters want to see their lives take. So kudos to the person who created this book cover. With just one look, it gives the reader a visual picture of the main purpose of this book.

This book is an entertaining and funny read. It covers many of the situations that could possibly happen to someone in their own life. If you want to have a few laughs and enjoy colorful characters, be sure to read Secrets to Happiness.
