Cribbage is a great card game that involved playing cards and counting points. Here are a few tips you can use to help your improve your game.

1. Don't start your play with a 5

If you start your play with a 5 all your opponent has to do is to put down a card that has a 10 point value for them to get 15 and therefore score 2 points. And because 10s-Kings are all 10 point cards it is pretty likely that they will have at least 1 of them.

You also never want to add it up to 5 either for the same reason. So if your opponent puts down 3 you don't want to put down a 2 because he will be able to get 15 if he has a 10.

2. Watch Out For Runs

You always want to watch out for runs. If your opponent puts down an 8 don't put down a 9 because they could put down a 10 after that and score 3 points for the run. In addition try to look for times when your opponent is making a mistake and take advantage of it if you can.

3. Try to Keep the Low cards in your hand

If you keep low cards in your hand you will have more opportunities to score points by placing cards down while your opponent keeps telling you to "go" because they have nothing but high cards. In this game high cards really can work against you so just remember to try to keep low cards.

4. Match Your Cards

See if you can get a pair out of it. So if your opponent puts down a 7 look to see if you have a 7 before you put something else down. This way you can get points for getting a pair.
