For those who do not know about Twitter, it is another social networking site. Along with that, it is also another annoyance that I am finding my husband possesses.

I have learned a lot about my husband since he started his home business. Some things I found are great and some not so great. Twitter, however, has become one of those major addicting annoyances lately.

See, my husband discovered that you can follow famous people on Twitter. As if, we did not get enough of their lives every time the news is on. No, now I get updates throughout the day.

He was so excited the day I came home to tell me about his new find.

"I am following Rainn Wilson on Twitter!" He exclaimed.

"O.k., I am not sure who that is," I say.

"Dwight! From The Office!"

"That is cool, I guess. Where are you following him?"

"On Twitter. I am also following Jon Favreau, MC Hammer and Shaq!" He says.

"Seriously, MC Hammer?"

Now, I daily get updates as to what these celebrities are up to. Did you know that Jon Favreau is on the set of Iron Man and talking about it? Did you know that Shaq gave away tickets to his game last week to the first person that showed up at the store he was in after he twittered where he was at? I figure if I have to listen about all these people, you should to.

As if that was bad enough, he also installed this thing called a Tweet Deck on his computer. It dings every time someone updates their status on Twitter and/or Facebook. Can you imagine how many times it dings? I had to make him turn it off after the first night because I could have legally been committed.

I think the worse part is I am starting to get hooked. Did you know that you can even find deals, coupons, business, etc? I have even found Steve Spangler and some of my political favorites.

I am not sure at this point how long before my mind is officially mush or the end of my marriage, but at least I know I can twitter about it. Hey, maybe I should look into following my husband!

If you want to check out or find your own famous people to follow, visit followfamous.com. You can also download a Tweet Deck at tweetdeck.com

Hi Laura, I am not sure if I have met you ~ I am thinking of tweeting on Twitter and find your article informative about it.  I already have an account at Facebook but very hesitant at getting active there due to all the viruses it can carry because of the address upload. I mainly stick with MySpace as it is a place to be self-expressive and engage artfully in graphics and catch up on current music ~  I agree about your tweeting about your divorce because that has to be such a release ~ I wish you the best in single life ~ write on   Blessings!  Suzy

Laura, hahahahahahahha, sounds like you are hooked too, that is even funnier!!! I have twitted and been twitted...but the most important thing to me, is who thought of the word "Twitter"?? I asked this question on SearchWarp Twitter, and nobody could answer that question, I was rather hoping that Bruce would let us know....I don't have any idea why the call it "Twitter", what kind of name is that, and how much different is it from just IM'ing someone?? I'm not sure that I would want to Twitter Celebs tho, cause I may not Want to know where they are at, or what rehab they may be in, or how many times Gary Busey has found God, only to loose him again, and back in Rehab?? I'm not sure I want to know all of this. If I Twittered anyone, I would think it would be Demi Moore...hee....hee....hee......or perhaps Sandra Bullock...I would be interesting to know where my two favorite female Celebs are at...hum, maybe I would, or could get hooked if I twittered them...Naw, I think I will stick to reading about them...I don't need the "Ding" in my life...hahahahahahaaha, Great article, and as ususal, my comment is almost as long as your article, but I did like this  one......so where does the word "Twitter" come from, who was the genius that thought of that one??? Your fan, and friend....Gary
