Can someone help me? I don't know why I'm surprised as I have been through this scenario before with one of my twins. I have had to go to the school to talk to the teachers and pick up their phones. My son needs cell phone surgery as his cell phone is attached to his ear. It won't come off no matter what I try! Now I need to find a good surgeon to remove it.

My seventeen year old believes he has arrived and is what every girl wants. Will this become a real ego problem or is it only a phase? Every time I turn around I hear some annoying ring tone which he calls music and, he is talking more than a teenage girl.

It wasn't my idea to get him his own phone. Thanks Uncle! Was this another bright idea to motivate him to do what is responsible? If so, it's not working. Every responsibility is put by the wayside compared to the phone, not that he wasn't already apathetic about his responsibilities. I am definitely not going to pay his phone bill but, I am sure his uncle will.

Now it looks as though I will have to take drastic measures to get him back on track. I was thinking of cutting off his ear or arm. I am more inclined to his ear in case he gets motivated to do his chores. That would work better if he has both hands. I can only ponder these measures as I don't want to wind up in the funny farm or elsewhere.

He is four months away from eighteen and for a short while I started going through the empty nest syndrome again. Now, I am counting the days until his birthday. I can't wait to see Mr. Know It All live in reality.

I am beginning to wonder if this condition is contagious. Everywhere I look I see cell phones attached to peoples' ear. The scariest scenario is watching people drive and text on their cell phone at the same time. If it is contagious, take heed and turn it off for awhile and kill the germ. Consider this a warning for your child and anyone else. If you know of a good cell phone surgeon, please let me know.

I laughed out loud  when I read your article Michelle.  I share your cell phone frustration. All this talk of Swine Flu when there's a 'Cell Phone' epidemic spreading like wildfire!

Thanks Brianna,

I have lost all hope on getting over the cell phone epidemic. I am glad you laughed. It is so important when there is so much chaos going on around us.

Have a great day!

God bless,
Michelle

Hi Michelle,

Great article. I know exactly what you're talking about. However, I'm afraid the cell phone and the kid are inseperable. This could be fatal. Almost as fatal as listening to that so called ring tone. Good job. Keep up the writing.

Love ya,

Mark

Mark,

You should know about this so called phase considering you are my husband. However, I don't know if I will stop looking for a way to separate them.

Love you,
Michelle

hi michelle,

of course, the phone talkers in the car are the most dangerous, but it's also really annoying when you're walking down an aisle in a wal-mart or the a&p, and you are forced to listen to someone's conversation until you can get what you want and move on to the next cellphone addict in the next aisle!

my son has his cell phone on vibrate, so at least i don't have to hear the annoying rings.

it's nice to have you and your sense of humor and honesty back,

my best to you,

sue

Thanks Sue,
It is good to be back with no casts and both hands working. I miss everyone.

I agree with you on that one with people at the store. I don't want to hear everyone's business around me. Then again, our neighbors are so loud that we can hear everything when they are just talking.

God bless.
Michelle
