When I pulled into the crowded parking lot for the grocery store, I realized the delivery trucks were the reason for the lot being crowded. I immediately felt that I was coming at a perfect time, and was going to get dibbs on some 'fresh' groceries. Fresh groceries or not, I will never go to the grocery store while they are having deliveries again! I already gained sight on not visiting Wal-Mart during inventory hours and days, and now I'm finding out that trying to do your grocery shopping in between dodging freight cranes, stock people and hills of boxes, just doesn't work.
My first sign to turn around and head home was waiting nearly five minutes for the ice delivery people to make their way through the doors ... OMG! ... but my determination to get the bargain items I came for wouldn't allow my feet to agree with my mental debate. I got in the store, turned to head to the meat department, and was nearly a speed bump from the Frito-Lay man. Of course, that should have been strike two for me, the fearless shopper.
But it wasn't, and I continued through my obstacle course until I gathered the items on my list, and headed to check on the last deal. And here's where I met strike three, and the final blow. As I approched two staff members standing leisurely, talking with what seemed like a neighborhood friend, they had to rescue me from not one or two, but three huge freight cranes coming from all directions ... I could see my end.
And, even after that life threatening moment, I still held out for one last item. But hey, it was a 40-lb box of chicken leg quarters for $19.99. I couldn't pass that up; I'd climb a mountain for that deal, and by the sounds of it, I did!
Well, people I'm here to tell you taht Reality Bites! And even in grocery stores. So, be certain to pay attention, or find out when your favorite grocer is having deliveries ... and, then make a note not to go that day!
Stay Blessed
Ronyae has been writing since she learned to write. Born Ranya Elajah Snowden to a single mother, she lived as a single family living a double life; her mother had to be both mother and father.
She has no children and has never been married, but she does love her Siamese cat Smoki like she birthed her. But Smoki has indulged herself with more than five litters of kittens. Funny how Ronyae can be a grandparent before she became a true parent.

Oh my, Ronyae, I can identify with your story. Both our local Wal-Mart and Kroger are doing major remodels and nothing is where it should be, if they even have the item in stock. Shopping the last couple of times has been frustrating. And, when they are done, none of the shoppers will know where to find anything anyway. It was fine the way it was. Ah well....life goes on.
I even have a better plan; I let my wonderful wife do all the grocery shopping. I wouldn't even know what to do in a grocery store. lol Do you think I'm spoiled?
YES, David! Yes, you are very spoiled, but I'm not mad at you. Because if I had a wonderful mate to spoil, it'd be no problem of doing so! So, enjoy it and appreciate while you can. Stay Blessed :)
