It started out as one of those days. You know the ones where you spend the majority of your day in the car. The kids are spending yet another meal chomping down dinner as you shuttle from place to place.

What seemed peculiar to me was the amount of people honking at me throughout the day. I would be stopped doing nothing and then start up to hear honking. I was getting so furious as the day progressed throwing my hands up asking why to the other drivers.
At this point I am considering starting a movement to ban horns from cars.

I had enough as I pulled into practice and another mom honked from behind me.

"Why is she honking at me!" I screamed.

"Maybe you are going the wrong way," my son informed me.

I wasn't. I parked the car and dropped him off. As I started to leave, I had a revelation. I finally realized what was happening.

I stopped at the stop sign and started to turn. HONK! Seriously, I thought. I looked around and no one was there. It was MY car honking!

Every time I turned, my car would honk! I called my husband and we just laughed. As I headed home I felt like a ditz. Then it got worse. . .

As I turned onto the major highway, it started honking continuously. As I accelerated, the car honked louder and longer. I looked for a hole to drive in, but there wasn't one.

I watched in horror as a guy on a motorcycle almost jumped off his cycle because of the sound. He then proceeded to give me looks.

I turned into the closest parking lot. Of course, it was a fitness club. My car is now honking continuously as I drive down each lane just looking for a place to park. I duck down in my seat in hopes that no one recognizes me. I can already imagine the talking on the treadmills about the crazy woman in the parking lot honking at people.

"I have to go to the bathroom!" the four year old said.

Of course she does. It wasn't humiliating enough to drive through the parking lot honking, but now I have to get out of this car?!?!

I see a Chic-fil-a across the street. I decide that I might turn the car back on and see if I can drive it over. As soon as I put it in reverse, it starts honking again. I throw it back in park and decide we will just walk.

Now at this point I am thinking the humiliation could not get any worse. Wrong, again! As we try to cross the street, we notice an unusual amount of traffic at Chic-fil-a. It was Spirit Night for a local school of which we now have to face all of our peers.

"Our car keeps honking at us," my daughter tells a friend. "Mommy, why does it keep honking at us?"

"I am not sure," I say with a smile.

The good news is that my husband came and turned off the horn. We were able to drive home without scaring any other people on the road.

At this point, I am starting my campaign to outlaw horns from cars.

I'm sure you were kidding about your "campaign," but funny story. I've herd of this happening before.  I would have a meltdown if it were me (or just stop and disconnect the battery, just like all good electronics.).

DON'T READ THE FOLLOWING IF YOU WERE KIDDING!!!

(If you're not kidding, that sounds rediculous. What if a semi were fading into your lane on the freeway because you were in his blind spot? I'd bet you would want your horn back.) Just had to make sure:)
