I rarely paint the same thing twice as my mind is too eclectic or weird as some members of my family labels. However, a bright, blue sky day brought me out into my gardens early today when it was chilly and eventually my old friendly, faded gardening jacket got removed and hung up on the pole.

Upon turning around at one point in my weeding I noticed the jacket from a "different point of view" and it caused me to do two things. One was to create another painting of my gardening jacket and the second was to do some honest to good thinking about "different points of views".

I do not know about you, but I have, at one or two or more times in my life, been called "pig headed" another name for being stubborn. I sometimes answered my part of the discussion with, "Well, that is my point of view."

Upon reflection, perhaps I should have taken the time to see things from the other's person's point of view.

It might not have changed my mind, but it would have given me an idea of where that person was coming from. Once I knew that I might have been able to see what they were getting at or where they were coming from. I might have been able to address and solve a problem should there have been one. I might have gotten a stronger argument for my point of view or even discovered that I may have been incorrect or taken a totally unnecessary stance. Who knows what may have resulted in seeing any issue from another point of view. I might have even been able to show them the reason for them to change their point of view.

Knowing all the points of view is really knowing all the facts and knowing what the ramifications will be once one goes forward with one's point of view.

I think this is very important in today's world as the United States of America starts to slip swiftly from its world leadership position and as our rights and freedoms of democracy start moving irrevocably towards socialism and perhaps world order.

We as citizens can not longer take the party line's point of view, regardless of what party we are just because that is the way we have always been or just because our parents were that. We need to start developing our point of view in every issue because it affects us in our home life, our pocket book, our jobs and usually every aspect of our world and planet.

We need to really open our minds and see our personal life, our neighbor's, far and near, personal life and remember that once we have looked at everything from a different point of view then perhaps we might be closer to inner peace and world peace.

"Tread the Earth Lightly" and in the meantime.. May your day be filled with Peace, Light and Love,
