Not every person who relocates to Chicago has the budget to afford luxury apartments or even semi-luxury ones. A significant number of people moving into Chicago are retired people, working professionals, students and entry-level employees. Subsidized apartments are the best option for such people.
Subsidized apartments cut costs by economizing on construction costs as well as reducing profit margins to a bare minimum. The purpose of subsidized housing is to make accommodation affordable for the elderly as well as for lower income groups.
Government agencies and social service groups usually provide the guidance for finding subsidized apartments for the elderly. Subsidized housing, for most people, is synonymous with public housing.
There are a lot of misconceptions about this concept, though. The elitist population in Chicago considers subsidized apartments as cheap structures that spoil a neighborhood. This is not true as these affordable apartments are typically leased or bought by newlyweds or people with lower incomes. They do not affect the property prices of nearby localities adversely. In fact, a recent study carried out in Chicago reflects that affordable housing has pushed up the prices of adjoining residential areas. This happens because when an area is well populated, there are services and conveniences that come up to cater to the needs of residents. These developments are favorable for the adjoining areas too. Besides, populated areas are lively and offer more security than secluded locations. Contrary to popular belief, areas, which have subsidized apartments do not witness increased crime rates. Subsidized apartment complexes pay their share of taxes and do not cause a burden on the taxpayer. Most subsidized apartments comply with building standards and rules.
Subsidized apartments are a necessity for the development and growth of the community.
Housing issues affect people of every income group, who all contribute to the city’s development. These affordable apartments are therefore, a necessity to the development of Chicago.
Those who live on subsidized housing that are not veterans, legitimately handicapped (because so much trash in America tries to attempt to be handicapped to live off the tax payer), or elderly are lazy scum who laugh at the true "American dream." They want to have nice things but do not want to work for them, and laugh at all us suckers. This is what the democrats of today stand for, and people who live on subsidized housing for not legit reason are scum. This article is a joke. Obviously written by someone who loves to receive handouts. Boo you, and its people like you that promote mediocracy in this country.
You sound very angry which most likely is legitimate. But no need to
take it out on people and situations you have no intimate understanding
of. Find the really object of your anger and free yourself.
