It is s a common misconception that in order to raise maximum funds at a charity event you need to reduce your spend on the entertainment, when in reality this could not be further from the truth.

Long after the attendees have forgotten the table dcor and the menu they will remember the Entertainment and how much they enjoyed the evening and it will certainly encourage them to come again next year.

From the Toastmaster/ Auctioneer that helped them donate their money; the After Dinner Speaker who amused them; to the Party Band that kept them up dancing til the wee small hours; the better the standard of entertainment, the greater will be the audience satisfaction and, as a consequence, their willingness to donate to your cause.

Some event organisers will think nothing of allocating 20 per head of the ticket cost on good quality wine and yet benchmark only 3 a head for the entertainment! With an average Disc Jockey costing from 350 & a Toastmaster/ Auctioneer at 400 that doesn't leave a lot in the budget for interesting and exciting Entertainment for the night! Many Organisers rely on the goodwill of a high profile celebrity offering their services for free, which is great if you can get it but if that's not an option then making the mistake of booking cheap entertainment is likely to compromise the entire event.

There are many ways to use the Entertainment to make money guaranteeing you a good Return on Investment. Fun Casinos and Video Horseracing can pay for themselves and some and with donations for prizes and sponsorship opportunities, it is easy to make thousands of pounds from the Entertainment itself and your guests will have enjoyed spending their money! You take the profit from the Raffle and games like Kings & Queens for granted but this could be taken to the next level with an hilarious comedy game show format which involves the audience to a greater extent and increases the money making opportunities.

Many Entertainers can help to raise funds - Balloon Modellers selling their creations, Tips in the Hat for the Magician and crossing the Fortune Teller's Palm with Silver, to name but a few. There are any number of ways to raise cash on the evening while making your guests feel they have been entertained rather than just having been fleeced of their money.

Once your guests have finished giving - and with the Auction out the way there is nothing left but to reward your guests with evening of great entertainment from a sensational party band, which is just for them to enjoy. That way you will have organised a successful event the guests will remember for a long time to come, especially when your next invitation lands on their doormat!

When it comes to organising a charity ball, why not seek the free advice of an event specialist like myself to ensure you raise the maximum funds possible and get the most from your event?
